"Drove 13.5 miles to donate my light fixtures that are less than 3 years old, in great condition and fully assembled and they would not take them. Staff was not very friendly either."
"When I first came into the store I had observed that this place seemed to be ran by excons. It's not comforting knowing that the employees are looking over your shoulder when your trying to shop for a bargain. WE ARE NOT ALL FROM CALIFORNIA TRYING TO STEAL!! So here's a question. If some items are priced with stickers then why does the manager have to look up items at the last min at the counter that are not priced online to see if he can gauge the customer. Even then they need to c hange the atmosphere here. It reeks with with thiefs!"
"Came in looking for a better deal for a budget project Friday evening Nov. 10. The location is pretty bad, and the parking situation is a nightmare. It's literally a building supply store, but don't bother bringing a truck because there is no parking space for it. I was willing to overlook these aspects until the dark haired girl cashiering was incredibly rude and unfriendly. Every question we had was met with a short snappy response and she seemed annoyed when I couldn't understand her quippy responses. She was overall extremely unfriendly and seemed like she did not want to be there. We were clearly a burden on her evening. Habitat for Humanity will be my first choice from now on, the prices at this place really weren't better."
"I had a chance to talked to "Weston" (Owner/General Manager of Second Chance) last week, to find out what kind of a man he is. I purchased an item in his one of his stores, and I asked the employee if I could picked it in a later time. The employee said yes, just call us when you are ready to pick it up, the employee added. Weston and his minions never disclosed that after 6 days, the item will be re-sold, and that there would be no refund nor any store credit. Otherwise, I would send one of my nephews to pick the item up, since there are 12 of them. On my conversation with Weston, I politely asked him for a store credit - I should not asked for it, because it was my property paid for with my money. This is considered "Theft by deception." Weston told me, and I quote, " This is ridiculous, the item has been left here for a long time and there is nothing I can do to help you." He is the one "Scamming" me, and I am the ridiculous one! Second Chance is an establishment that rely on the "Kindness of the Public, on donated surplus materials." I believe that this is not the first incident that happened in his establishment, but no one stepped-up to exposed his greed. I urged you all my fellow IDAHOANS, not to donate your surplus materials to Second Chance. There are better establishments to donate your surplus materials, such as Idaho Youth Ranch, Goodwill or Deseret. These establishments always strived to establish very good relations with their customers. They have excellent return and exchange policy, they even give store credit. They won't tell you ridiculous in your face, Reviews I read on how the buying Public are mistreated at Second Chance. It is about time the Public knows of what kind of people running Second Chance, WE, IDAHOANS deserve better! I would give this review a ZERO. Please "STOP Donating" at Second Chance !"
"Hey Boise! If you're new to the area OR if you're remodeling on a budget OR if you just love fixing and flipping, you HAVE to check out the Second Chance! I LOVE this store! And if it doesn't have a price on it, as there are thousands of items, no worries, just ask the fella behind the counter and he'll make you a deal LIKE NO OTHER! I got this perfect 5'.5" long 1/2" thick piece of glass, my new craft desk top, for a whopping $10.00!!! Now that's a DEAL! The ONLY way to beat that one is for free! Whatever you're lookin' for chances are they have it! Check it out today and let Second Chance save YOU a truckload of money too! Also located in Nampa!"
