"OMG! We had one of the best meals we’ve had in a longtime. The interior has a definite Parisian influence - very well done! We had the crispy artichoke as a starter - excellent! I then had one of the best bowls of soup ever - a potato leek soup - fantastic. My wife had the sole meunière - very good. I had an exquisite lamb rgau over ‘pappadelle pasta - outstanding! The wine recommended was a very good Spanish gamay beaujolais. Finished the meal with a very good stick pudding. The service was very good and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back."

"Another rare 5 star review given out by this guy! Happy to say the food was delicious, perfectly cooked eggs, which for some reason restaurants around here can’t seem to figure out. Service was great and everyone seemed happy with their jobs. Can’t say enough about the taste and quality of the food. Go for brunch or a date night, you won’t be disappointed. Drinks were also on point. Only thing to be aware of is it is a bit on the pricey side."

"The Avery restaurant is a fun, sophisticated place. It is beautiful inside and the food is not only fantastic but you can tell the chef loves what he does because it is artistically placed and decorate it on the plate. The ravioli, pan-roasted sole and chicken were excellent. The cocktails were tasty and the desserts were spectacular. Portions were not extra large and the menu is à la carte so it’s something to consider when booking a reservation. It wasn’t a super quiet restaurant, but we were able to chat without any problems and our table was close to the bar. I don’t know that I would recommend the restaurant for children partially because of the menu and partially because of the ambience but it’s a great place to bring your friends or have a date night. Parking can be a little bit challenging since it is in downtown Boise, but there are lots of parking lots and also street parking available."

"So good! My brother-in-law and his wife took us there for brunch this morning during our visit. With many good choices on the menu, I settled on a starter order of Scotch egg and a side of breakfast sausages for brunch at the last minute. The alternative I considered was grits with a sunny side up egg and cheddar. The egg was perfect 8-minute egg with a slight soft-core yolk coated with layer of deep-fried meaty goodness. It was a generously sized egg placed on a small bed of green salad and bacon pieces so I wouldn’t have needed the sausages in retrospect as the side came with 4 fat juicy pieces. The service was very attentive and friendly and the decor was inviting and cozy. It was a yummy start to the weekend."

"We had a truly incredible meal for our first time at The Avery, which certainly will not be our last. My wife and I started with the crispy artichoke salad to share. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and we were both delighted by the combination of texture and flavor. I ordered the roast chicken, which was generous in portion and perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy in the center, and the pancetta gravy and fingerling potatoes was simply delicious. My wife ordered a halibut truffle special, which was so good the table next to us went out of their way to tell us we HAD to try it. Thank goodness, because they were not wrong. It was also perfectly cooked with rich flavor, but not overpowered by the truffle. Our meal was complimented by great service and a beautiful restaurant atmosphere. While the Avery is relatively new to the Boise restaurant scene, our experience suggests it will be here to stay and can solidify itself among the “must eat” restaurants in the City."
