"My grandparents thought their dishwasher was leaking, but when they went to replace it, they found there was a much larger problem than just a leaky dishwasher. Under their sink and counter was an overwhelming amount of black mold. We had called 2 different businesses that offered the services to repair this issue, with no calls back. Garfield with Restoration 1 was our 3rd call after weeks of no response from the other places. THIRD TIME WAS A CHARM. Garfield and his team were very busy, but they were able to squeeze my grandparents in for an estimate. Once the estimate was done and knowing how much mold was in their house, Garfield and his team made it a priority to get to work as soon as possible. They were there within a few days to begin the project. They were very knowledgeable, professional and thoroughly explained what their plan was when beginning the project. Garfield and his team did an amazing job and had my grandparents back in their kitchen, cooking and using their new dishwasher within 3-4 days. My grandparents are very happy with the outcome of their kitchen and I am happy to have a peace of mind, in knowing my grandparents (80 and 95 years old) will not be harmed by the allergens of black mold as it was removed promptly by Garfield and his team. "My new washing machine leaked all down my walls and flooded my basement room. I had no idea where to begin. The store suggested Restoration one in NKC. I called and they came right out. Garfield dealt with the store and their insurance company because no one could tell me if and when I would be reimbursed . They were putting one insurance company against the other to see who would pay for it, the store or the washing machine company’s insurance. They even seemed to be trying to see if it was my fault. Garfield dealt with them and their questions and even held my check until I got paid. He aired out my walls and took pictures to sent them in to document everything. Garfield went beyond the call of duty and spent at least an hour on the phone dealing with the store and the insurance companies to make sure I would be reimbursed and get a new washer soon. I felt like I had someone by my side against a big company and two insurance companies. He even texted me when it was all done to see how I was doing. In a time when you have to be so careful not to be scammed I felt like I was dealing more with a son than a company. Thank you Garfield, wish there were more people like you!"

"The work done by Restoration 1 of North KC was above and beyond…I would highly recommend their services. After showing Garfield the areas affected by the sewage backup I had he did a thorough inspection of my basement. Areas I thought might be of concern he advised were OK. He gratefully pointed out where I had a mold problem I was not aware of. Garfield and his team got my basement disinfected from the sewage issue and free of mold. I appreciated how he took the time to show me what they had done and why. Ever respectful of my property he offered to dispose of sentimental items contaminated by mold. When they were done my property was spotless. For the work they did the value of their service was incredible. I would trust Garfield, and his team, without hesitation, if I ever need their services again."

"Updated 2/22/23 Garfield came by my house on 2/17/23, he was very professional and friendly, my initial issue was a leak with some ceiling damage which I fully explained before scheduling an appointment with Restoration1. When he came in he started to address the roof, and ask questions about it. I let him know the roof was new not even 3 years old and then pointed him into the direction of the actual issue, a leaking toilet, and a damaged seal on the base of the tub. He Checked the floor and let me know that the floor didn't seem worth tearing up. we proceeded to the downstairs area where I was nervous of a possible black mold issue. he reassured me that it was not that bad, and only rust. a small area that would need to be replaced. He took two business calls thereafter, and went back to the quote after the calls. When he came back he quoted me 1.2k and said he could have his team do it today 2/22/23. He said he would email me an invoice. This is where things take a turn. He looks at me and goes so you already fixed the leak, and I look at him and say no. I turned the water valve off the whole reason your here is your site offers water repair and restoration. He then goes oh well the quote is only for the ceiling, and we are only going to paint the small area, I guess we can throw in the leak and the tub sealant. Garfield stated he will send me an invoice with all the info later that day, he attempted to take my email down and after some errors I type it out and hand him a copy of it typed out. He states he will send me the invoice and send his guys here today, Wednesday 2/22/2-23. He had my cell phone number and had no problem texting me multiple times before the appointment. this appointment was at 8am mind you. here we are 5 days later no invoice, and no workers. no text, no call. I do not recommend Garfield from Restoration1 of North Kansas City, for any plumbing or water damage restoration issues. I want to point out, this is a national franchised company, restoration1 of North Kansas City and Restoration1 Kansas City are 2 completely different companies. Make sure your talking to Ryan when you call. updated 2/23/23 After seeing this review he reached out to me, said he had a call service call me on Monday, Amy who did not identify themselves as restoration1 calling on behalf of Garfield or asking if I received the invoice for services to be completed this Wednesday by his team. The lady who called me Monday tried to schedule me for an additional consultation. The whole communication is way off. I give it a 2 star because Garfield is probably an amazing contractor who does good work. where he failed was to identify before making his visit out here that I had a leak, and if you cant fix the leak the craftmanship on the drywall ceiling repair is defeated if its only going to re-occur as soon as the water is turned back on. Listen to your potential customers before tackling half of there problem."
