"Since this is pay what you can, I've been through when we could afford $10/session and when we couldn't afford to give a dime per session. Both instances (2017-2018 and then again in 2022) were incredibly helpful and rewarding! The way I see it, these students aren't jaded or burnt out from listening to people and they are most up to date on new research coming forward. Having had a therapist in 2012 in CA fall asleep during my $85 session, I was hesitant about going anywhere when we first moved here to Springfield in 2014. But my brother had gone to MSU and benefited from the services of CCCC, so he kept on me to go. I'm so grateful he did!! Those sessions in 2017-2018 helped me lay down trauma and learn more about myself, which has led me to seek a diagnosis through Burrell. Mr. Rogers said, "if it's mentionable, it's manageable", and this center helps me manage my diagnosis and be the best wife and mom I can be! It's a safe space to work through thoughts and emotions and get corrected if a line of thinking isn't productive. I just love, love, love it!!"
"I've been through counseling here for two separate instances. Both times were extremely beneficial for me. The ladies in the front office are so sweet and helpful. They also have a small library of books you're able to check out through the week. They are a college facility and you are seeing psychiatrists in training. You pay what you can based on your income which is just one less stress to factor in. I highly recommend this counseling center."
