Metropolitan Community College - Longview

"I have attended MCC and JCCC. My biggest complaint is Professor Loftin who is a science teacher for anatomy and zoology. HORRIBLE. This teacher expects the most ridiculous things when it comes to his class. There is hardly any homework, and if there is homework it's not worth a lot so if you get anything wrong there goes your grade. That's the same for the quizzes. He is also an extremely difficult grader for no reason. He is not clear in his instructions but will count you wrong for something you weren't even aware to do. Also, only three tests throughout the whole semester. The first test was 9 chapters. Those chapters were very diverse and quickly taught. When he teaches he just repeats what the textbook says and then during lab he just sits at his desk leaving us to figure it out ourselves. He argues with the textbook a lot. Also, if you ask a question he embarrasses you in front of the whole class. He forgets it's supposed to be an intro class. After the first quarter of the semester more than half my class dropped for all the same reasons. Ridiculous."

"I have taken a half semester and absolutely love it! The campus is extremely clean and peaceful. The teachers on the other hand, have been very interesting, in my experience. I have gone to other MCC campuses, and this one is by far my favorite one"

"This is such a great school, it has exceeded my expectations and has given me a very good education. This school defies the stereotypes of community colleges and has a well-educated staff. There are a few staff members that aren’t too great in my opinion, but that comes with most schools."

"Unfortunately my experience was terrible. I will be attending Johnson County instead. I dealt with wonderful people up until dealing with Matthew. He's the most unhelpful person I've dealt with in a college setting. He should find another job because he's obviously very unhappy in his current profession. When your position is to help people and you get pleasure from being as unhelpful as possible....it's time to move on buddy. Thankful for the genuine help I received from Johnson County Community College to get everything in and their proactiveness. His lack of help won't be a deterrent to my goals but they may be for someone else."

"The worst experience my daughter has ever had is attending this horrible School. She has a professor that constantly harasses her and attacks her grade card. The worst mistake I have ever done as a parent was recommend my child to attend this school. My daughter has been a straight a student with honors throughout all of middle school and high school. Now she is experiencing the worst struggle of her life and crying her eyes out on a daily basis because of the constant harassment and bullying being done by the art teacher at this school. This is a horrible school that nobody should ever attend. Trying to save a few dollars by attending this school will be a big mistake. You have been warned. STAY AWAY!"
