Fairmont Apartments

"I went in to tour the Fairmont apartments and the leading agent was very unfriendly not sure if he was having a bad day but I felt unwelcomed when I first walked in to the point I didn't even make it to tour the building I left out that is how bad it was .I would not want to rent there especially if they show me I'm truly unwelcomed there."

"One of the worst places to live in st louis! Also way too expensive for what you are given and the quality of it. Here are my experiences please read. The building is old and constantly falling apart. Within my first few weeks of living here my sliding mirror with its rusted hinges fell off on its own. My bathroom ceiling caved in due to rot. Every window in my apartment is broken in some way. My living room flooded twice and caused water damage. Too many things to ask for them to fix. Not to mention the noise. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on between the apartments. Also while it seems fun to live in central west end, this building does nothing to save you from The noise of the area. Good luck sleeping or studying. The owners of the property are extreme and enforce their policies rudely and without mercy. Do not live here"

"Mgmt is BLATANTLY RACIST! I went for a tour today, I think with Stephen (that is who the confirmation email was from). From the moment I arrived he was less than thrilled to have to deal with me. SUPER Rude, not welcoming AT ALL, basically tried everything to get me out of there as fast as possible. He didn't give me a tour, didn't show me any apartment at all. I have never in my life experienced such blatant racism, he couldn't even look me in the eye. Never even introduced himself. Nothing. Stood all the way across the room from me the entire time I was there. He made it abundantly clear that Black People aren't welcome there. I will take my business elsewhere."

"The management and neighbors are great, and the rent is outstanding for being in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in St. Louis City. They keep the building clean and well-maintained and constantly update you on repairs and maintenance. The only gripe I have is the elevators are down every so often, and when you live on a higher floor, you get a workout. However, this isn’t unique to the Fairmont. When you live in a building with elevators in the Central West End, you will become very familiar with taking the stairs. Most of the buildings around here are around 100 years old all of them have elevator problems."

"I have lived in numerous apartment buildings in my life and this was by far the worst. The management is very rude and sometimes completely unreceptive. They always act like you're inconveniencing them to do ANYTHING. The office is poorly run, making it very hard to receive packages because they will close at random times. I had a huge problem with mice. I have a very clean apartment so I was shocked. Multiple times finding dead mice caught in traps around my place and management didn't seem startled(I got the feeling this is a normal occurrence for this building). They didn't want to remove them and were very slow on setting up extermination. I doubt they ever would have, if I wasn't constantly asking for an update on how they were fixing this huge problem. I have never had to deal with pest control before and hope I never have to again. Living in this apartment made my skin crawl!!!"
