"The window of my car got smashed by someone, even though I paid 75$ each month for the parking. I was shocked. This is not a safe place to live. The management team responded very “professionally”-it is the owner of the vehicle’s responsibility. How could I protect my car in the midnight when I was sleeping? Maybe I should park my car inside my apartment, lol."
"See bottom for updated review ( since the new apartment building owners took over) I've almost lived here for a full year and I think the price matches it perfectly. Its obvious it's an apartment that has been around awhile, but compared to some newer apartment buildings that I looked at, this place was top notch (I saw one place that was advertised as Luxury and the elevator was so vandalized you could barely make out the numbers--this elevator is old school and is one of my favorite parts of the building). I've seen a couple reviews talking about the manager being rude and though I've only dealt with one of them, I've never been treated with anything but respect in our interactions. Also If I ever have an issue with my door handle being loose or radiator leaking, it is handled very quickly. I don't plan on leaving any time soon but when I do I'll update the review. Edit as of 4/25/2022 Parkway has been sold..... Edit as of 8/9/2022 Rent was raised for new tenants (was $795 for a studio and is now around $1200 for the same studio). Want to get ahold of management? Good luck because they don't respond to emails and their phone line hangs up after 15 seconds. The only way I found to get someone to communicate with me is to submit a MAINTENANCE REQUEST... unacceptable. I will say they were prompt and got me my deposit back fairly quickly."
"I looked at a one bedroom that was reasonably priced for 700 square feet in the central west end but the leasing manager rubbed me the wrong way. She was condescending and her ego was a little too inflated for an apartment with a hole in the bathroom ceiling. I won’t drop names but I’ve seen her nasty comments she left on other peoples reviews and that’s enough to influence my decision. I understand that if you’ve worked in the same building for 20 something years, you’d deal with a lot of crazy people but my money isn’t worth interacting with someone like that on a regular basis. I’m pretty sure I was being profiled for being youthful despite the fact that I qualify and my credentials are impeccable. I wouldn’t be surprised if they discriminate here."
"The company that owns this apartment, Real Property Associates Inc., sold one of their buildings and kept all pet deposits. They did not transfer the deposits to the new management as part of the sale. They then tried to call the deposit a fee to make it seem like they can't return it. The paperwork they gave me when I moved in calls it a deposit. They also lied and told me new management had the deposits. I called the new management team and they don't. When I advised Real Property Associates Inc. of this, they stopped claiming new management had them but still refused to return the deposit. I agreed to pay the deposit in order for it "to be used for deodorizing and cleaning of existing carpets" per the paper I signed. They will not be cleaning the carpets before the apartments are torn down so they will not be using the money in the way the contract allows for. This company is only out to get as much money from you as possible. The worst part of this is that I called in August when I saw that the apartment could be sold. I was thinking about getting a cat and I asked how soon this sale could happen as I would not buy a cat if I didn't have at least another year here. They stated it was so early in the process it could be years before it is sold. However, all of our leases end in June so they must have been planning for the sale at the time I called and still let me pay 150 for carpets they won't be cleaning. They have changed the deposit to a fee and have doubled the cost of it. They are out for money, do not give it to them."
"I lived here for 1 year 2018-2019 and had the most amazing experience! I moved out because I was relocating, otherwise I would not have had a single reason to leave. The staff was friendly and responsive, maintenance staff are in the building every single morning (except Sundays) to collect trash and are very friendly. I was on first name basis with several staff and was able to ask for any repairs needed and they were addressed by the next day! I couldn't have been happier, I highly recommend living at Parkway Apartments!"
