"It is very very obvious that these 5 star reviews with a couple of pictures of unfurnished apartments is by people who work at/ for The James. These are not luxury apartments. They are a joke for the amount you're spending. 1600 for 550ish Square feet? Yeah right."

"We wanted a top floor and weren't able to see the unit before leasing due to construction. We went by the floor plans to decide the unit. It showed an island with chairs, a space by the oven for a dining set, a place for a sofa and 2 chairs. When I saw the unit, I was in shock. There is NO counter space for cooking. The space by the window wouldn't accommodate a bistro table. There is no work area by the sink and stove. There is no wine cooler. There is no pantry for food storage. The refrigerator had no water or ice dispenser and was dented. It was very small and didn't fit the space. We had to purchase the proper refrigerator ourselves as they would do nothing. The counter is more like a butcher block with a quartz top. They wouldn't replace it as they said it didn't go with our unit even though they picture the unit with chairs by the "block." There is no place for appliances. A queen bed barely fits in the bedroom. A couch wouldn't fit in the "living room." There are no ceiling fans or doorbell. The spare bath has a fiberglass tub with a hole. There is no Jacuzzi bathtub. The master bath has no counter space. The toilet is next to one of the tiny sinks. We can't sit on the balcony for the bird droppings from above. They said the garage was heated. There is NO heated garage. There is a $145.00 charge for a parking space in the garage. There is a charge to use the tiny conference room. There are no carts for groceries or cart for luggage when traveling. They offered to let us out of the lease knowing it would be impossible, as we had released our other apartment lease. On a positive note, the location is what we needed for a proximity to work. Aron, the man in charge of maintenance, is a Godsend. He has taken care of so many of the problems that weren't addressed by the builder. The shower is nice even though they didn't put in racks for shampoo. The washer and drier are quality. There isn't a lot of noise unless they use the obscene blowers in the garage. The stove, oven and microwave work well. The DNA for pets is imperative. Sadly, it is overpriced for what it is. It is not "luxury.""
