Dr. Lauren Flynn

"I’ve found Dr. Flynn most helpful in my eating disorder recovery. Although I see her outpatient, she’s willing to allot as much time for our sessions as needed to thoroughly understand progress, regression, and any other concerns I may pose about my medication regimen between visits. Her knowledge of current psychiatric research, medicine, and practice are reassuring, and she relays that information in very clear terms so that we may collaborate to make the best decision(s) about my care as possible. Most important, I feel heard during my sessions."

"Dr. Flynn is by far the WORST psychiatrist I've ever had. She is rude, condescending and does not have the patient's best interest in mind. She put me on a medication that made me vomit multiple times a day and refused to take me off of it. I was in eating disorder treatment and was "dismissed" from the program because I physically could not eat. I came to her again a few months later (not my choice, I was paired with her) and she asked me why I was back in treatment because I "hadn't even lost that much weight". She also laughed in my face while I was having a panic attack. I am in recovery now, no thanks to her."

"Dr. Flynn is very pompus, self-righteous, and uppity. She is extremely insecure, and therefore belittles all individuals with whom she crosses paths . Moreover she is callous, incapable, and unwilling to receive any feedback that is not positive about something she does or has done. Dr. Flynn is exceedingly rude, and never takes accountibity for her actions, rather she rationalizes everything she does. Furthermore Dr. Flynn is a reactive practioner; she waits until a situations become dire to enact appropriate treatment. Though Dr. Flynn is very knowledgeable about psychiatry, her own insecurities, and her need to establish dominion over others, often clouds her her judgement as physician, and impedes her ability to work copasetically with both her patients and collaugues. Dr. Flynn always has to prove that she is the best, most intelligent, and superior person in the room. While that may be an admirable and beneficial characteristic in other career endeavors, it makes for a pretty lousy psychiatrist at an Eating disorder treatment center."
