"I lost my wallet in El Segundo! Oh wait no no… I took my wife into this place and had to pay ransom to get her back. Loved everything about this place, and this part of town. Take a day… bring a trailer!"
"Rod's a great guy and has been buying and trading with me for years. There's always something new in the store to check out and has stuff from all the great designers. If you're looking for something and he doesn't have it, he'll work with you to find it. Very knowledgeable and a must for any furniture fans."
"Great stuff. There is a difference between "expensive" and "overpriced" I think some of the other reviewers here don't understand that there is a class of furniture that is analogous to the Aston Martins of the auto market or the Pradas and Guccis of the fashion world. This is a place to find the best designed, highest quality furniture in the world. They have some less expensive pieces but in general it is not going to be cheap. Maybe SJ and some others should stick to Nebraska Furniture Mart."
"Mid-Century Mecca I went in expecting small selection & big prices. I was wrong. This place is cram packed with great stuff. They have the expensive dream pieces, but also great looking items for those of us with a more modest budget."
"Are you kidding me? I was worried that all they had were $10, 000 couches and high-end art & light fixtures. My apologies to Rod, the owner, and to his staff for me "thinking" again. Don't get me wrong, they do have all those things, but they had some great mid-century furniture that fit my budget. My first purchase was a few months ago & found some awesome pieces for my basement. A couple months ago I bought some great chairs, lamps, couches & tables for my living room. These aren't just any tables, they are George Nelson tables from the late forties. Bob, on the team at Retro, made the most incredible copper and brass planter inserts for these tables. SueAnn, the stager & decorator/designer, came to my house to help me pick paint colors and place the furniture. Oh and I can't wait to buy some new office furniture that's probably 50 or 60 years old and made from incredible, exotic materials. This store is full of beautiful art in the form of mid-century furniture & lighting; I never thought my house could look this good. Thanks again for all your help!"
