Waffle House

"We don't have any Waffle Houses where I'm from, so they are a must stop when we travel. Exceeded my expectations. Food was great. Service was excellent. Great to see a crew making their jobs fun and engaging with the customers."

"Walked in with family after attending my granddaughter's gymnastics meet in Olathe. We had traveled from Wichita. There were 5 adults and 3 children therefore we needed a large booth as well as a small booth. No one acknowledged us when we entered and the booths we needed were both dirty. There was a dish cloth on the table at one booth. We stood there waiting and waiting and not one worker would acknowledge us. We were standing there and they said absolutely nothing, like, "we will be right with you." My son was holding an active toddler and one waitress was training a new employee therefore 2 people were at 1 table taking an order. One lady was wiping down the counter where someone had eaten. Still no acknowledgement of our party( 5 adults and 3 children.) After a while, I walked over to one of the dirty tables to start clearing it off onto another table so some of us could sit down, then some bossy loud waitress started yelling, telling me to leave the table alone. I continued for a while and she got louder telling me her boss had trained her and didn't want me messing with the table. I didn't say a word however she cleaned off the table so some of my family could sit. After we were seated I watched how they acknowledged others after they entered the restaurant. My daughter kept reminding me that "this is the waffle house" as if they are excused for substandard service. I am a generous tipper. In fact, I intended to bless someone really well because I am a giver and I grew up poor. My daughter paid for my meal and I had cash that I would have left beside my daughter's tip. I kept my $30. This was very unprofessional and maybe since we were not regulars they decided to treat us this way...anyway, I won't be going out of my way to patron this Waffle House again."

"The Olathe Waffle House is great. The servers are all extra friendly and the food is excellent. I got 2 eggs sunny side up, hashbrowns, toast and bacon. Their coffee is really good as well."

"Food was great as always, had some hashbrowns, smothered, covered,chunked and topped with 2 eggs scrambled with cheese. The cook did a perfect job and the wait staff was awesome!!"

"This is a seat yourself restaurant that is low key but but has great food. We ate at the IHOP the day before and the prices were about a third more. One thing about prices I should mention is that the prices include sales tax. Wow"
