"Went on a beautiful day. We walked about a third of it and that took most of the morning. They say it takes two hours if you drive and stop at all the places. $20 to drive. The historical buildings don't seem to be open to the public. At least they weren't when we were there. The museum was good. Visit that first to learn what you will be looking at. The echo in the Illinois monument is epic. I wish I had done a sphere picture inside of it. I would like to go again to see the rest of it."
"Definitely worth a stop. We wished we had more time. Nicely maintained. Dog friendly, Sunny enjoyed it."
"This was such an interesting place. Allow lots of time! There is so much to see."
"A beautiful peaceful park that honors veterans of both sides from the American Civil War. My 14 year old son and 9 year old daughter loved the experience. We will be back, even half a day in the park wasn’t enough to really see everything in the park."
"I had a great time at this major civil war battlefield. Of a hundred battlefields I have visited, this is easily in the top ten. This park in on par with the great battlefield parks like Shiloh and Gettysburg. Hundreds of signs, markers, monuments, cannons, etc."
