OYO Hotel Brookhaven MS Hwy 51 North

"This was the worst place I've ever had to stay at. The room as filthy, my husband went to pull a drawer out and let it go because it was sticky. No coffee pots in the rooms, the people running it are very rude. Now there was a nicer hotel next to it. This was a cheap room but you get cheap and disgusting rooms.."

"I checked in and paid for two nights stay. needless to say I went and walked in the room started checking cuz it was pretty nasty definitely dirty had not been cleaned sheets not clean dead bugs everywhere. no way I could stay no way I'd have been able to get any sleep. I went to get a refund I said no way I can stay here sir that room is dirty he said what do you mean I said you know what I'm talking about I said do you get the prize he said the price for what I said the price for the dirtiest motel I've ever seen in my life he refunded my money all but $9 I said that's fine you deserve nine bucks for the dirtiest motel..... last place on Earth I'd want to stay in fact I just sleep in the bed of my pickup before staying there!"

"We drove for 19 hours and this was the only place that had a room available. The owner told me to go look at the room to see if I would like it before I even booked it. I went to look, it was horrible. It was musty and dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke(My family has allergies to cigarettes). The problem was there were no rooms anywhere else in town or nearby and this was our destination, so we stayed. Needless to say I did not sleep. The beds were very small, the linens didn't look clean and they had holes all over from cigarette burns. When I opened up the nightstand to look for the TV remote, there was an ashtray with old cigarette butts in it and other discusting stuff. The bathroom was dirty, the floors looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed in a year, stains everywhere. We had what looked like adjoining rooms with the room next to us, so we moved the stand that the microwave was on and there was so much trash and dirt under it, they had some sort of prop for the nightstand to keep it upright so we had to fix that the next morning, which meant we had to get down on that dirty floor which smelled like alcohol and cigarettes and who knows what. If you can avoid it, I would. If not, sleep with something against the door and don't use anything but the hard beds."

"I booked through Hotwire. First thing out of the owner's mouth was, "You're not gonna like the room." I told him I just needed a place to sleep because I had to work early in the morning. He again told me I'd not like the room, then stated it's a cash $50 deposit. He repeatedly told me I should stay somewhere else. Then did not answer the phone to authorize a refund."

"I drove here from Atlanta, 8 hours with my 2 sons. We called and booked through the OYO booking number. Booking was easy and the rep was friendly. I was due to check in at 2:30 am. I arrived to the hotel at 2:14 am, rang the bell and a little girl, about 9 years old came to the window. I said yes I have a reservation, she went and got an older man. He came to the window, frowning, did not speak and I handed him my ID and said hi, I have a reservation and gave him my name. He said no, the room is 54 dollars. I said sir I paid when I booked. (The moment he spoke, I smelled alcohol, through the window and I had my mask on, he was so DRUNK) he looked and said NO ITS 54 DOLLARS IDK WHAT YOU PAID! I did not get upset I got my phone and showed him where I booked via the oyo site and showed where it confirmed my payment. He said, its 54 dollars, so me being tired I said OK, can I please get a receipt, he frowned, looked at me, threw my card and id to me and said, I dont got no rooms, slammed the window and walked away. So, I called the number back to make them aware that I've paid and this drunk man would not give us our room. The rep tried to call and they didn't answer the phone. Hopefully I get a refund. Go to the newly opened MOTEL 6. ITS way better, clean and friendly. That OYO building had one guest and now I know why. The building speaks for itself as well. Never again! I wish I could rate it ZERO STARS"
