"1-star if you camp in January: Easy layout, SUPER close to the beach...which is a double-edged sword. We camped in January and there was a storm that destroyed our stuff; 2.5" of rain, 70mph winds, flooded the campground trails, flooded our camp site, flooded the road in/out and the raccoons are especially devious here; They figured out how to open our difficult-to-open cooler and dragged food items into the bushes, opened a latched box with shoes and carried the box away and they ran off with our unopened half & half (I saw the half & half trail leading into the bushes. I will never camp here in the winter, ever again, but if YOU do, choose the loop that is back in the trees, nearest the yurts, away from the first 1/2 of the park. It's a beautiful setting, and it's remote'ish, so you won't have a lot of "curious" people driving through to worry about. Staff wasn't particularly friendly, but that's similar across the board at all Oregon State Park campgrounds I've noticed. Bathrooms were clean, but the weather chased us away before we could get a good look at the showers."
"Been here a couple times when visting Oregon. Afew options for trails. Nice little treat at the end of one of the loops"
"Some how I came across this gem on the west coast and it was nearly empty! Beautiful beach, massive and very well equipped campground, the trail out to cape lookout just a couple miles up the road was stunning, though tbh the 2nd half was extremely muddy. The first half is worth the mile hike definitely, but if you can deal with the mud, the second half is absolutely worth it, unbeatable vistas and the trail was a lot of fun."
"Check-in went smoothly and campsite was clean on arrival. This is a somewhat primitive Campground, set barely among pine trees. Flush toilets a short walk from our campsite, water available adjacent to our campsite. Fireplace clean and of good size. Campfire wood available for sale at Campground. Ocean beach a hundred yards from our campsite. The Pacific Ocean beatiful, the beach clean and uncrowded. The sounds of the ocean surf will be sending you to sleep."
"I’ve been here twice and it’s a nice place to camp. There’s a good stretch of beach and the sites are close enough to hear the waves at night. There are a LOT of sites here and the bathrooms and the landscaping is a little run down. The sites are small and close together but mostly separated by brush and trees. They do have showers and flush toilets which is nice. Lots of families and kids and dogs. The yurts look good too."
