Reviews of BarburVet
"Unfortunately over the years Barbur vet has gone down hill. They were originally recommended because they allowed me to hold my pup for his vaccines since he's nervous with new people. He had a traumatic experience at another vet that insisted on sedating him to see him and has been wary of vets since. Because he's a pit mix the Dr's at Barbur have all reacted negatively to his appearance assuming he would be aggressive and continuously ignored my request to avoid eye contact with him and just focus on treats. He has always picked up on their nervousness with his breed. Now theyre insisting on sedating him to see him which is completely unnecessary since he's gone years without and had great visits with a lot of the staff at Barbur. Now the majority of the original staff has filtered out and they dont seem to take the care my pup needs to feel comfortable. I will not be returning or referring my grooming clientele to this vet!"
"Amazing Vet! The staff is so wonderful and friendly! They truly care for your pet. Saved my cat and helped coordinate transfer to an ICU when they were in a dire situation. Couldn't be more happy with their after care and check ups. They were also so amazing and helpful during COVID restrictions offering video call ins and picking up your pet from the parking lot. Understanding with anxious pets. I trust their care with both my pets and recommend them to all!"
"They offered quick and effective care for Penelope and were patient with her when she was spirted (but feisty) on her follow up visit. First time I've felt certain which vet I want to use in the future."
"Barbur Boulevard Vet is a great place to take your pets, particularly during the pandemic! All of the vet techs are very friendly, and my kitten likes all of them (up until getting shots!). How do I know this? One of the wonderful accomodations they've made during Covid is video call vet visits! This lets you watch and talk to the vet throughout the visit, giving great peace of mind to anxious owners. If you're lucky, you'll even get the visit room with a window facing the parking lot, and be able to watch the visit from your car (see picture)! Doctor Avalon is my kitten's vet and I always feel confident that he's in good hands. The vet fees are a bit pricier than where I'm from; not sure if that's the same across PDX, though! Be prepared to spend 180-200$ for normal wellness + 2 vaccines in a visit; if you're starting off with a kitten's first visits, be sure to ask about their 1st year kitten plan!"
