"This place is an absolute labor of love and a gem. It isn't as fancy as some of the places you'll find in Hillsboro or Portland, but there is a charm here that the others don't have. The owner is a very nice man and super helpful, always offering to order things for you that they do not have in stock. Downstairs is a small show room stocked to the gills with games and accessories. 40k, board games, D&D; it's all here. Upstairs is an open area for hosting tournaments or simply friendly games between players. Need a local spot to throw down some 2,000 point 40k matches against a friend? Sword and Board is a great place to do so. I'll definitely be back!"
"This place is so fun! My boyfriend and I stopped in on a whim and met with the co-owner Nathaniel. He was super friendly and we could tell he was passionate about running this store. The prices were great and there was plenty of space to rent out to play games. We will definitely be going back soon!"
"Sword and Board has a great atmosphere and great prices, for example the Tau start collecting kit is 70$, not to mention Magic 6 packs for 20$. I am a regular at the shop and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to play a game casually or to anyone looking for a great deal."
"A real great place that doesn't matter if you spend any money, they just want to have a place where people can sit down and play some good ol' games together. The prices are cheaper then anywhere else, be it Magic, or Warhammer 40k. D&D books are a little more spendy but you're free to borrow them while there. I've hosted several D&D 5e sessions here and both the party and I love the place. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for nerdy games to play with people."
"Great little shop! The two owners emphasized that they opened not to make big bucks, but to serve the community and offer a safe place for all ages to hang out and play board games, role-playing games, card games, sit and read (shelves full of books) or even just talk. They even offer instruction on how to play Chess, Magic, The Gathering, and all the other games in the shop. When I was visiting the shop I heard another shopper say that the prices were like 30 to 40% less than other stores. One of the owners said it was because they want to make games affordable. Oh, and I'm really into pet friendly establishments and during my visit one of the owners opened the door and invited a man and his dog in and then gave the dog a bowl of water! Now that's nice!"
