"I escorted my 87-year-old mother to this branch of Bank of America to withdraw all her money because a letter they sent for dormant accounts. Ironically, the reason it went dormant is because they keep closing local locations making it inconvenient for someone who has mobility issues. A banking specialist took us into an office and asked for id. When my mother presented her Department of Defense military ID it was denied. I said that's a primary ID, she said no we don't accept those. Then the vice president of the branch as well as manager came to the office and said I'm sorry, but we don't accept this. His reasoning was they are easily duplicated. I couldn't help, but start laughing at what ludicracy he was talking about. The Oregon ID which she does not have because she does not drive is not a real ID under Federal standards and will no longer be accepted after May of this year. My mother has no problem boarding through TWA Gates, but Bank of America will not accept her one and only piece of identification. The VP said come back when you have your passport or Oregon ID and you can withdraw your money. I filed a complaint with the Division of Financial Regulations and we received one phone call from Bank of America which was promptly returned and 3 weeks later they have yet to call us again. The day after they would not withdraw her money because they don't accept military ID, I had to take her to the doctor for shortness of breath, anxiety and high blood pressure. Most likely all this was caused due to the stress of what they put her through. I Googled Bank of Americas acceptable ID and it appears all forms of military ID are accepted so I don't know why this particular Bank of America said no. I also don't like the comment the VP made that these are easily duplicated. They are most certainly not. We are seeking the advice of an attorney which we have an appointment with on Wednesday, but we are at our wits end. If you are in the military or your spouse has a Department of Defense card or CAC card, do not bank here. They will hold your money hostage and look for any reason they can to continue to make interest on it. I can see why this Bank is always in the courts paying out settlements or fines from their numerous lawsuits that are filed against them. I would venture to say they are engaging in unfair and illegal Trade Practices. Especially against elderly people who are easily confused or shaken."
"I needed to wire transfer money from my BoA account to my credit union account. I had called the 800 BoA customer service number to make the transfer, but none of the service reps from any department could help me. In fact, they told me that I couldn't do it at all, because of my credit union's routing number. I stepped into this branch, was helped within 5 min of being there, and they made the wire transfer, no problem. BoA has some major issues with their customer service, but this branch has the knowledge and experience to do their jobs."
"Saturday, I used their ATM and their ATM was having difficulties so, it spit back the money, crumbled, twisted and $200 short and no receipt was given. I checked online and it shows there was a $100 (not $200) deposit pending. Tried calling the emergency # listed on the ATM for 24 service and a recording came on stating they were closed and call back Monday. There was no option to call another # or to leave a message. Called Lancaster Bank phone # and it was the same. No emergency phone # and I could not leave a message. They should have a designated 24 hr hotline for these kind of problems."
"Went to take my little sister, a minor to cash a check she was gifted and the customer service gal didn't know how to handle this common situation and had to get her manager. Her manager was emmediately closed and stands off about it all and said we had to go to her guardians bank and cash it there with a fee. I spoke to someone from a different bank and they said this is possible. My mom had to go in with her and they looked at the check and told her it was expired. It was too much."
"After 19 years with this bank they left me, along with my wife and 2 daughters, stranded without access to my money! I deposited my paycheck on a Friday mid day as I asked the cashier if she was certain I would be able to access it the following morning because we were on a family trip. I live in Washington State, got paid in Salem and deposited my check there before driving to the San Francisco Bay area. She said with all the confidence in the world," yes at 8 a.m. you can withdraw any amount you need to." By 9 p.m. I got and email saying my money was on hold until 4/11 that's 12 days!! I had enough cash for food and fuel for that night but not much else. I called this branch early the following morning and they just said, "sorry there's nothing we can do." That's it? Just like that? Well I told them I have no money for food, fuel, lodging and am in a horrible situation. She(the bank manager )just said," sorry there's nothing we can do." A person who heard me talking to them on the phone actually gave me a hand out, yes, I have a job, a bank account, I deposited my check and I had to accept a hand out from a total generous stranger... Here I am with my wife and 2 daughters stranded and staying in the house of a random person in California until tomorrow morning when I will borrow money to drive home. I hope I can find a lawyer or I don't know what a person can do to make this p.o.s. bank and manager not do this to another person again. 19 years and never have I had a payroll or personal check have any problems and here I am forced to accept handouts."
