"DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE, THEY WILL SCAM YOU OF YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT. We left our place spotless, and they charged us for 15 hours of cleaning, and to repaint and prime all of the walls. We left no damage to the house, and got about 300 dollars left. Not to mention, we didn't have a working dryer for almost our entire lease. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE"
"For $1200 a month you too can have a rusted oven that looks like its from the nineties, roaches coming out of your bathtub drain, and stairs covered in rusted nails with the railing filling your hands with splinters if you so much as brush up on it! But seriously, do not rent from these people. Upon move in you could tell whoever cleaned did a rushed job. The oven was caked with a cleaning agent that wasn’t wiped off or out of the oven and the toilet paper roll holder was absolutely covered with grime. This rental company does the absolute bare minimum and charges you as much as they can for what are some of the worst apartments in Corvallis."
"As an existing tenant I am happy to amend this review if my opinion of this company changes. The TLDR is: They refused to fix the rusty drinking water in our sink. Then, they let my apartment flood after being warned that a drain was broken. Then, they tried to evict me because I complained about these maintenance issues. Shortly after moving in, I noticed the water coming out of our kitchen faucet was bright orange. This was reported to them on September 7th 2021. I have included a picture of the water that was taken in February 2022. It was finally rectified 2/24/22. Nearly 6 months later. Clean drinking water is a very basic and necessary part of property maintenance. Over this period, I was routinely lied to by their project manager (Josh Larson), who initially claimed that he would "replace the pipes" and maintain "good communication and transparency". He instead installed a filter on the cold water line at the end of November (2 months after initially reported) and a filter on the hot water line 6 months after initially reported. I repeatedly contacted Josh, as well as the Property Manager of my unit, and finally the owner. I was told that they couldn't receive the filters due to "shipping delays" throughout the months of November, December, January, and February. I contacted someone at the company 7 times over this period, and was told that same story. But after reviewing the invoice, At Home Properties didn't even order the filter until 5 months after I initially reported the rusty drinking water. So not only was the water in my apartment unsafe to drink for the 6 months after I moved in, but I was lied to and ignored about the process of rectifying this issue. Shortly after this, there was an issue with our apartment flooding, due to a storm drain being broken. And I had notified At Home Properties about this as well, in January, February, and March. Due to their inaction, my apartment flooded a total of 3 times. When I contacted them to notify them that they were liable for the damage to my property due to their failure to fix the drain, they attempted to evict me in retaliation. This, of course, is illegal, and they rescinded the notice shortly thereafter."
"When I first moved in they had me sign for an apartment that was already lived in. They gave me a key to that apartment so when I went to move in imagine my surprise when I opened the door to an apartment that was lived in. Stupidly dangerous situation for everybody involved. Rent is way too high of course for what I lived in and they will love to give you ridiculous charges to keep as much of your security deposit as possible when you move out. The few times I actually needed something from them they were slow to respond and generally unhelpful."
"Their 909-923 NW Beca Ave apartments always have trash all over around the dumpster and rats because they never close the lid. The trash blows all over down the street and looks terrible. After DAYS of calling them 4 mattresses and a couch were finally removed from the sidewalk next to the dumpster where a former tenant had left them last weekend. Just gross. I tried to call and I left multiple messages when that happened over the course of 5 days almost a year ago. This picture I uploaded was from this morning. It's always like this. It's funny, they took the time to lie about me calling, but never called me back? How convenient."
