"Easier moving experience than I would have thought. I moved to Portland 6 months ago and was very nervous about finding housing here didn't know if I was going to be able to get through the paperwork but I found Kira the manager very helpful and the process was surprisingly easy I really really feel like I made the right decision in what part of Portland I live. Any concerns I have had ,which have only been minor ones, have been addressed really quickly this place really feel like home."
"Finding an apartment complex to live in often comes with decisions of what can you live without. Hogan Woods is a rare example of one that checked all of my boxes. In unit washer and dryer, pool, hot tub, gym, community room, allows pets, it's all there. Management and maintenance are quick to respond to any issues and are consistently great. The only thing that separates me and my dogs from Red Sunset Park is a locked gate that only residents have a key to. It's been a great experience."
"my experience is not being the best. I've only been here a month and already my neighbors have made about 4 noise reports. Until now I have not played music nor have we held any type of celebration, there have only been visits from two friends who are a couple and we have been talking on 3 occasions. From what I see I can't even think about celebrating my birthday or that of any of my family because apparently my neighbors are bothered only by the fact that we have this visit. We are Cuban and we may speak a little louder than people here but at all times inside my apartment or on my balcony. So if you are a person whose friends or family visit I don't think this is the place for you, or maybe I had the best hearing neighbors in the entire condominium."
"Coming to the end of my TWO years of living here. Great people! Great ladies working at the office! The maintenance person is changed to an awesome guy! Clean at all times. Rules and regulations are sent via text every often to remind tenants that there is no smoking in apartments, keep the noise level down. The prices CAN be a bit lower, but I take it as they use it for upkeep the facility. I will be renewing my lease again. Thank you for making me feel secure, safe and always listening to my issues."
"Well the only reason I would give this a one star is because of management !! The on-site manager is what in my experience I have found to be typical as a middle-aged woman who has been given a lot of power and authority over people and it has gone to her head! She likes to thwart her power over the people that live there ! And apparently is never held accountable for any of her actions by the management company! She was allowed to assault one of the residents in the office one day and amazingly was left on as the manager even though the resident that she assaulted was given a restraining order against her. Now most reputable management companies would be dismissing an employee that did this but not this one! So if you choose to live here, just realize that management and the management company do not care about you. They only care about you paying rent! And they don't seem to care much about fixing the amenities around the property that the residents are paying for. They take their time in fixing them. As in the swimming pool was supposed to open on memorial Day, most reputable management companies would have had their maintenance people opening up the pool and getting it ready at the beginning of May. But this one didn't take the cover off and start that process until the week before memorial Day. And that is when they discovered that part of the pool was broken. So the patrons that pay rent for that amenity didn't get to use it for an extra month. Likewise with the hot tub. The residents paid for that amenity to be there and it's supposed to be open year-round. However, it was supposed to be getting worked on but it took them five or six months of nobody touching it and then two or three weeks of somebody actually coming out to work on it to get it fixed. So just say it this way. The residents are not a priority at this property!!! The on-site managers. Lack of experience shines through to anybody that walks around the property and knows anything about property management. You can see it in the lawn care. You can see it in basic things like it's August and maintenance is still not removed. The insulation blocks on the vents of the buildings and many things like that. The apartment that my friend rents from them supposedly had a walk through done on it. However the light switch in the master bedroom is non-functioning. It doesn't even flip up and down that wasn't caught by this manager. The maintenance people have bypassed the fans that were installed to keep out radon gas out of the buildings. So the radon fans don't come on anymore and the washers and dryers that they provide. For instance, the dryer in my friend's unit when you open the door on it doesn't shut off. It just keeps going. The washer doesn't really wash as well either. Now I know that generally these things are the cheapest ones but they don't keep up on maintenance very well. Say the least. I would advise anybody who's looking at this property to look over one block and rent the apartments next door where at least you have better access to the park or go down the street to the brand new buildings that they built because these people are asking a small fortune for apartments that they don't maintenance very well and the manager tends to go on a power trip! The assistant manager is a very nice person. Very easy to deal with. However. The other issue which might magically get reported to the county in the city is the handicap spots. Have magically been removed in one case, one of them has been removed and made a reserved parking spot for the manager so if your handicapped you can be sure you're going to have a difficult time having a handicap spot. And when it comes to parking or covered parking, more than likely, you're not going to get a covered parking space anywhere near your apartment. But the neighborhood surrounding the complex is fairly quiet and it's easy walking around the neighborhood and there's an access to the park next door which is nice. It's mainly just management problems which tends to happen a lot with apartment complexes."
