"I've lived in Hood Center Apartments for almost 11 years. I really like it here. I love the park setting. This is the largest 1 bedroom apt I've ever lived in. The kitchen's small, but we have wall to wall closets all the way down the hall plus in the bedroom. A lot of storage space! No we don't have any amenities . We have on site laundry rooms. I'd rather have the huge closets than a pool I may never use. I'm really thankful to have a place that I can afford. The only thing I don't like here is the apartments are cold. We were about to get our new windows when covid hit & they had to stop. I've never had a problem with the managers. I have good neighbors. What else can I ask for?"
"I lived at the Hood Center apartments from 2017-2021. I am on the ground floor apartment. Pros: Cheap rent Good location Quiet neighbors Cons: Limited parking for guests ( tenants have multiple cars and some of them don’t even work and despite the language in the rental agreements, NOTHING is done about them. Lots of homelessness around ( digging through the garbage, recycling, etc.) 2017-2018: rude office staff Office staff keeps random, inconsistent office hrs They don’t salt in the winter or shovel the snow (see pictures) - I had to do my own salting (as they suggested) so I could at least leave the parking lot to get to work. Some of the tenants keep their own shovels since Hood center has been understaffed with maintenance for the entire time I’ve lived here. Rainy season, the parking lot floods consistently"
"We applied for an apartment here, paid the application fee and never heard a word back. Every time we called to see where our application was at, the same woman would answer the phone, would (pretend to) look our info up, and then tell us that they were still working on contacting our references. That was 2 weeks ago. Don't bother with this place, they certainly can't be bothered with you."
"I never moved in here, but the managers were extremely helpful, pleasant, and professional. They were willing to work with me, since I had another application pending as well (hence why I never moved in). The apartment was a good deal and the shared spaces are pretty."
"Cheap place to live and very quiet. The management needs an overhaul, property manager is rude and unhelpful and tries to get off the phone with you or get you out of her office as quick as possible, had maintenance in my apartment twice to 'fix' issues that broke again the next day. You get what you pay for, living there was fine as long as I didn't have to deal with management."
