"I just moved in and I looove my apartment! The pride parade went past my windows and I had front row seating, which is an added perk. My neighbors all seem very sweet and friendly. Letting me know that if I need anything let them know. I feel safe here even in the area. If my windows are closed I really cant hear too much noise outside surprisingly! I looove my little city Studio! Best find and affordable too❤."
"These are the apts. that subway is attached to at the front of the building. On the corner of 2nd & Couch NW. The units themselves are studios. They vary slightly in size but generally pretty small. There are 2 floors (no elevator). 2nd floor are where smaller units are located (with the exception of the ONLY 1 bedroom unit they have). The 1st floor, the units are directly behind Subway (Subways backdoor opens into our courtyard area. Only accessible by Subway employees ). These units are a little bigger. There are 7 units off of courtyard. I have actually lived here for almost 5 yrs. The first 2 yrs were beautiful. Building maintenance kept up really well. Manager was easily accessible. Most residents were respectful & friendly. PRIDEFUL OF THEIR PLACE TO LIVE & KEPT IT CLEAN. The rent was appropriate. I can't say much about the last couple years & still be nice so I will stop now. Just know this - its not the same. Rent has gone up 3x's with absolutely nothing more added to make that justifiable, as a matter of fact, the condition of the building (outside & hallways, courtyard, laundry rooms) have become disgustingly filthy. We haven't had a manager stay long enough to even try to address anything with so.....if anyone knows of a place fairly reasonable in rent, preferably NOT downtown, please let us know.. Just me & my hubby of 20+ yrs. (& yes, we both work). Oh, of course there's our furbaby, whose getting up there in years & too fat (or spoiled ?) to make it up too many stairs when he has to go out to potty. We are WELL stocked in poop bags, we clean up our 'messes'. Sorry for length...."
"Recently remodeled units and good neighbors add up to a pleasant place to live. Affordable and safe considering Where We Are and downtown."
"DO NOT MOVE HERE. [Feb. '19 Update: He's still here beating his dogs since they can't evict section 8 people. Avoid this building at all costs] A major dog beating and meth problem has been going on here with the same unit for almost 4 years now, unit 201 with the balcony. Most of the building has since moved out due to this unit after management ignored them all about this problem. For some reason management will not evict him even though many other people in the building have been evicted for much less, most likely because unit 201 specifically is under section 8 protection. I have watched and heard them punch and kick their dogs (two pitbulls) countless times, accompanied by very loud yelping and cries from the dogs. Animal control won't remove them without video evidence. This same unit never locks their door and allows homeless people and meth heads to come and go as they please, yelling and screaming in the hallway almost every day as they come and go. Accompanied with the smell of meth and weed coming from the unit frequently. Honestly the building is pretty decent if it wasn't for him. So if you're planning to see a apartment here, you should seriously ask them if the person in unit 201 has been evicted yet. If not then you should reconsider living here. You have been warned."
