"i just toured a studio listed for ~$800 a month. the room is the size of a storage unit. it doesn’t even have a shower in it. the bathroom sink isn’t even in the bathroom. where are people supposed to shower??? in the kitchen sink? are you high? this is absurd. as soon as i walked in the room it was an immediate no. if you’re looking at this place, do yourself a favor and rent a room in a house with some people, make new friends, learn to compromise with roommates. living alone has its perks, but if this is all you can afford, save yourself the headache and don’t even bother. i am absolutely disgusted with the fact that some dumb landlord thinks it’s okay to charge this much for me to need to go somewhere out of my own apartment to shower. how do you people sleep at night? hopefully not well. just look at how often these people have to do damage control in their own reviews. positively sickening. the revolution will not spare you."
"I’ve been renting in Portland for several years now and my experience with Parke Plaza has by far been the most delightful. Troy is such an accommodating landlord and the on-site property manager Jake is always around to lend a helping hand in such a kind and timely manner. It’s a breeze to get ahold of either of them so it’s great security knowing my needs will always be met. The building itself is oh so charming and the location really can’t be beat. I rarely use my car anymore because almost everything I need is within walking distance and the neighborhood feels safe even when it’s late at night. I’d highly recommend Parke Plaza to anyone in need of a blissful rental experience."
"This is my first apartment and I couldn’t be happier! Every tenant is friendly and the area is great. I can go on a jog any time of the day and feel safe. The property itself is well kept and so clean! The application process to move in was undeniably smooth. I would honestly recommend this place to anyone. And for people with cars worried about parking, 9/10 times I find a spot on the street of the complex when I get home from work (Honestly, spots open up frequently so it’s not an issue at all)."
"This is a great place to live! The apartments are small, but very affordable for being in the heart of the Alphabet District! The place is clean and well maintained, and Jake the building manager is great! There are a ton of bars, restaurants, and shops just feet away! Just to the West is Forest Park, and Skyline Drive where you can get beautiful views of the city. To the east it takes no time to walk down to Powell's, Living Room Theater, and a thousand other great places. A ten minute bus ride gets you to the waterfront. This location just can't be beat if you love living in the city!"
"This is the second time that I've rented from Parke Plaza. A year ago I moved because of family issues. The apartment I have now is a small studio apartment that seems slightly nicer than the one I rented last. It's comfortable for a studio, and being affordable and near downtown fits my lifestyle well. It's still a quiet building that's well managed. The onsite super, Chris is still here. He's very friendly and approachable for any issues that I've had. The manager, Troy Parke is still very professional and organized. Since I've lived here last it looks like they've improved security for the building. Nothing else seems to have changed much. I'm happy to be back."
