"He is a great doctor, very informative and very caring. Takes his time to explain everything and not in the doctors chair but in the patient chair, sitting right next to you! We need more caring and informative doctors who enjoy their job just like him! I am very pleased with my care from him as a doctor!"
"I've been a patient with various Corvallis Clinics doctors for many years, including the previous ENT doctor. As a 90% disabled military veteran, I qualify for the Veterans Affairs Community Care program, which allows me to see local providers versus trying to go to a VA facility. The VA authorized a visit to see this provider, and his office called me to schedule an appointment for an issue I've needed help with for months. The scheduler made a point to explain that this is the only ENT doctor in town and his calendar was pretty full, so it would be nearly 6 months until there was an opening. I said okay. A couple days after scheduling that appointment, they called back to say they needed to cancel it. I didn't really understand the reasoning and the person seemed to me like he was in a rush, so I didn't bother waste my breath arguing. I let the VA know about the cancellation. They asked me to call back to find out the exact reason. So I did, and apparently the reason is that the new doctor doesn't want to accept the VA's authorization as insurance for any new patients. So, even though I'm not a new patient to Corvallis Clinic, and not a new patient to that department (and they've all accepted VA authorizations as insurance), I would have been a new patient to this particular doctor -- who apparently doesn't want to accept payment from Veterans Affairs. Not Tricare, but the VA itself. I find this pretty disappointing to say the least, especially given that I've been going to Corvallis Clinic a long time and the VA has spent a ton of money on me...money that's gone to Corvallis Clinic. In fact, I'm seeing a different Corvallis Clinic doctor on Monday, for an orthopedic issue. Maybe they don't get quite the same amount as they would from other insurance; I don't know. But I do know I deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, missed the birth of both kids, and have a ton of medical disabilities because of 21 years of service. And I also know this is the first doctor at Corvallis Clinic that refused to take payment from the VA, for a 'new' patient. So, I'll let the VA know the reason. And I'm sorry he does not wish to treat retired military patients like me who use VA and who need to see an ENT doctor because of sinus issues from deployments. Maybe VA will authorize me to go to Mid-Valley ENT which I think is in Albany. If not, I'll just pay out of pocket. Ironically the previous ENT doctor I saw at Corvallis Clinic went to work for the VA."
"Dr light is a great doctor but his staff is not that great. Rude"
"Dr. Light was kind and thorough. He got me in on very short notice. I felt I had his full attention to my problem and he offered solutions. He was concerned for my comfort and pain management throughout the procedure. I would highly recommend him."
