"Super Duper peaceful. No public restroom. A great alternative road trip to take if you're heading to Astoria."
"Good place to take a drive for the day from portland. Almost always see elk. If they aren't there. There somewhere nearby.(edit) on my 4th time visit. Someones dog gave me a tour. Assuming he came from the house upfront. He was a really friendly dog. Super clean bathrooms too. saw bald eagles."
"This place is so beautiful. I love being able to see all of the wildlife!"
"Found this by chance and parked up in the main car park and we were the only folks there apart from the wardens. Beautiful area and very well maintained. Lovely picnic spots so we stayed and had our packed lunch. Plenty of birds about but also quite hard to spot. We also had a visit by a deer that came bounding into centre and saw a couple of squirrels. Could have spent longer here but we’re on our way to Astoria. Should mention the the public restroom was perhaps the cleanest I’ve ever seen."
"Took Route 26 heading west to Route (103) north up to Jewel then west on Route (202) to the viewing area. I must say this is the first time coming out that way and the drive was very appealing. The parking area will be on the south side of the road (left side) heading to Astoria. The viewing area itself was super quiet, my brother an I were there today (August 20th, 2022). Lots of jays, some robins, a bunny, cooper hawk up high, lots of grass :). Bathrooms are available during the summer don’t know about other times of the year. It was pretty cool would deifinately need to take binoculars, a spotting scope or a camera with serious reach for wildlife photos. Plenty of information about the place. The drive up to Astoria is very pleasant. I would highly recommend this area. The road to Astoria from the viewing are is very windy and has super tight corners so drive slowly."
