"I had F&C build custom cabinets for my kitchen in 2018. The cabinets are now failing because F&C did not primer the wood first. If a single drop of water sits on the wood the paint peels off. Never did I dream I had to specify to a cabinet building company that painted cabinets had to be primed first. The cabinets are cheaply made, no exterior backs to them, on install they were not leveled from back wall to front of cabinetry making the stone countertop install very difficult. They were a huge disappointment. Undertaking correction of this mess will involve sanding all the paint off, priming and repainting. Save yourself some heartache and go somewhere else. If I could give them zero stars that is what I would give them."
"We moved into a new house a year or so back and the kitchen was in much need of a pantry cabinet so we didn't have to store food staples in the garage. After looking at several outlets, prefab distributors, and two other custom cabinet shops (that were too busy to even to review our plan), we stopped in at F & C Cabinets and were encouraged we had found a shop that could solve our problem. Rhonda took our plan information and gave us a price estimate that was within our budget, and Zack visited our home and followed up with a detailed design that improved upon our original plan in several very useful ways. The shop completed the project promptly, matching our existing cabinet design and staining perfectly, and Travis and his helper showed up right on schedule to complete the installation. We love it! Great work, fine craftsmanship, and an outstanding outcome. We recommend them enthusiastically."
"I knew if I ever got the chance to build my dream kitchen, these were the guys. They built my parents kitchen over 40 years ago and it is still one of the most beautiful and high quality kitchens I have seen. My designer, Dave, knows his craft! He had ideas that I hadn't even thought of. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I know have my dream kitchen!"
"Lows: Install was horrible, they are uninterested in their customer being happy, and they dont care about the quality of the final product. It took two months to install, and we finally gave up. We decided to live with the quality issues instead of trying to get them to show up and make it worse again. We are doing a total remodel of an older home in Forest Grove. We needed a complete set of new kitchen cabinets and 3 bathroom vanities. We thought a local company would treat us good, and so we went with the higher priced solution. Big mistake. Things we liked: Show room is nice, Zack is a nice guy. The quality of the base cabinets are good. Things that went wrong: We ordered the cabinets and they said 3 weeks to install. The working day before the 3 week install, I contacted them to verify install date and they said they had moved the install out 4 days to Friday. On Friday morning I called to see where they were and they said they couldn't come after all. I had template measure for counter-tops schedule for the following Monday, and told them it was $500 to reschedule. So they came out Sat and installed the base and uppers. They miss measured one of the connecting uppers, and so they had to go remake it. 2 weeks later they came out to "finish". They worked for a couple of hours, put up some trim, and left. A few weeks later they brought out the upper and installed. When I got home from work I looked at it, and the cabinet the installed was 3/4 inch too wide, and so the oven / refrigerator was not plumb. I called and asked if the installer had a level with him, because to my eye you could see how bent and un-level the cabinets were. a week or so later, they came out and straightened it out. I think they cut the cabinet free hand with a skill saw, because the joint is crooked. Looks like cheap cabinets. Other issues: They cut out the back of a cabinet for a power outlet, but they cut the opening too big. Even with an oversize outlet plate, it does not cover the hole. There are doors which do not line up. Some drawers if you pull two side by side out, they hit and bind. Where they installed trim and nailed, the primer paint shows through. Here is one of many emails from the company: "I know you’re going to be upset but we cannot make it over today unfortunately. I would have let you know sooner but I was unaware yesterday that were going to be short on guys today. I really do apologize, this is not how we normally do business. I promise we will be there Monday morning and get everything done. I talked to my grandpa and let him know that you guys are unhappy. If there is a chance we can get someone over there today I most defiantly will. Otherwise they will be there Monday morning at 9am" ———- They were not there on Monday. It was the following Thursday before they showed up. It was clear they were servicing customers much more important than me. Pick another company! -Scott"
"We went through a contractor and had no problems with them. I went to the warehouse and was able to see our cabinets being made, then they made several samples for the stain for me to see. Work with Larry. I made lots of changes and he was very accommodating. You have to be flexible in timing when you are building anything. Just stay on top of things. They did have to fix an error, but they did it willingly."
