"Sandwiches were smaller than I expected them to be for $16. The bread roll was very plain & dry & I think something was missing from the ingredients, I didn't taste thai basil at all. It tasted good, I think my expectations were high because of other photos & reviews. Staff was very friendly, perhaps it was an "off" day."

"This place has an excellent, easy to read menu. The staff is friendly and kept our bevereges topped off. The menu is sandwiches and hamburger's mostly but the sandwiches are a wide variety of ingredients and flavors. i was starving so i picked a cuban... it was loaded with very tasty ingredients. It came with tomato soup. The manager let us taste some pork belly chunks and it was instant love! I plan to make many return trips the valiant, there are many items on the menu i want to try. The name of valiant the sandwich is in the process of being changed but will still be valiant. Downtown salem is a better place for having this sandwich shop."

"Are you looking for a tasty burger and sandwich shop in Salem, OR? Look no further, @valianteats has one of the best cheeseburgers in town! Their hand-made patties with melted cheese and fresh toppings, along with a side of crispy fries, make it one of the best in town. We also tried the Reuben sandwich, which was good but a little fatty. The atmosphere is really chic with their red brick some abstratic artwork. The waitress was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. They also have Happy Hour and a great cocktail menu! I will definitely be a returning customer."

"Small sandwich restaurant with a full service bar and minimal outdoor seating. Cool, casual vibe. You walk to the counter, grab a menu and a seat and a server comes over. A friend and I met for lunch and neither of us had been in before. It’s clean and our server was good. Food came out in an appropriate amount of time. I ordered the Cindy Burger with fries and a side of ranch and my friend ordered the Rueben with the same side. We split the dishes so we could share the food experience. The burger was really good! Seasoned well and even had a hint of spiciness to it somehow. The produce on it was fresh and the bun was toasted to perfection. The Rueben I wasn’t so thrilled with. It had good flavor but the meat, to me, was too thick and too fatty. The fries were seasoned and hot and the ranch dressing on the side seemed very fresh. I’ll definitely eat here again and I’d recommend it for a good sandwich spot!"
