"Was a little mislead by the title. Was expecting a coffee shop type of thing. With breakfast and coffee. Inside was cute but a little cluttered. We got their basic cookie and it was ok! A bit pricey for $4. Staff is very friendly. But I agree with the other reviews. No smells of “baked” good smelled like normal air if that makes sense."

"Smelled amazing as soon as we walked In. So many choices. We ordered a few different things and they were warm and fresh. Great customer service, from whom I assume was owner. Friendly and excellent experience. Husband said he would come back to Newport just to eat at this bakery again."

"This bakery is amazing! They have quarter pound cookies! Which is the perfect size for an afternoon treat! They also have my dream decor ascents for my beach cottage! It is a beautiful and delicious stop!"

"I found Chubby Lil' Mermaid on Google before our trip and boy am I glad that I did! This little bakeshop is on the side of the 101 and is truly a gem. I was excited to eat their baked goods but this shop is so much more than that. They sell LEGO and Playmobile as well as many other gifts and toys. You get a two for one by stopping in - food and gifts from your trip! I also must shout out the owners of this spot. Kimi and her husband were eager to speak to us about our trip and gave us a great recommendation to go see Devil's Punchbowl just up the beach towards Pacific City. It was one of the coolest things we've seen in Oregon! As for the sweets, we got a Churro Cupcake, a Vanilla Shortbread cookie, and a Peanut Butter Cup Brownie. We also got some hot food: Sausage Strata and Cream of Broccoli soup. Everything was delicious. So much so, that I wish we had bought more to eat along the way. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! I hope I get to visit again someday. Until then, I hope that they continue to thrive as a wonderful Oregon small business!"

"The Chubby Lil Mermaid is fantastic! Ridiculously good. Their cookies are incredible AND they warm them up for you so they melt in your mouth! Their brownies are soooo soft its almost a brownie pie. The soup and bacon cheese rolls were a perfect dinner and then we walked with our desserts to the beach! Their mermaid shop also has adorable mermaid accessories! I also can't wait to show my kids their cotton candy wall. This shop is so well done. So happy they are here!"
