"Newport Fred Meyer Bakery was awful! Don’t recommend trying to order a cake from them. It was *almost* comical. I got hung up on 4 times when I was trying to order a birthday cake. The 5th time I just got transferred to customer service, who said she was sorry I kept having to call back! She would page the bakery and figure out what was going on. Then she came back on and had to tell me the entire bakery staff just went to lunch, so she’d have to take my name and number to finish my order. (Like they hung up on me mid order and went to lunch?????) No one ever called back. (I was literally ordering any kid car/hotwheel design or dinosaur anything, with whatever colors were easiest/whatever they would choose for a boy. I told them I’m not picky whatsoever, it’s for a toddler. So I know I was not being difficult…)"
"Never have to wait to check out. They open up extra lanes as soon as more than 3 people are in line. Gotta love the customer service. Great assortment of holiday decorations..."
"I am paying for my very expensive groceries. When this young checker in no other words tells me to pack my own groceries. I looked at him and asked him if this means I get a 50 % discount. Then I consider helping him. He looked at me with disrespect and finished his job. I noticed him a few other times. Lazy & disrespectful. Who is in charge over there ? Terrible customer service to say the least !!!!!!!!"
"Aug 2023: We’ve lived in town for over 5 years and everything has just gone downhill here. They’re still frequently out of desired items. Then there’s the poor quality of what’s left… On todays visit alone: The bags of lemons were moldy, a package of bacon looked unsafe to eat (it was brown), plant-based meat that was “Best by June4th” (today is July 31st), and then we get home and unpack our bag of fingerling potatoes which are apparently rotting. Cool cool cool. The price-gouging continues. Check your receipts/ prices at check out often because the sale price listed on the shelves does not always get applied. That’s how they stole another $2 from us today. I do appreciate the friendly and hard-working folks on the floor, so 2 stars. Lastly, I'll never forget when I tried to tip a gas station attendant at their fuel center down the road and he wouldn't take it, told me "they're not allowed" to accept tips. How cold-hearted and wack is that?! Shame on Kroger/FM. Dec 2023 update: Store has been under new management and running much better. Groceries are more organized, better stocked and fresh."
"I totally think Freddy's rocks mega socks now that I have the app and know how to score mega points. Shopping here is not only fun but saves us a ton on gas and the rewards are well worth it. I recommend everyone to at least try shopping at Fred Meyers."
