"As you walk into this Walmart Supercenter along the Oregon Coast in Newport, you'll see very uniquely together merchandise displays that will catch your eye, a clean store, great in-stock but one thing that is certainly lacking is great customer service, I was never asked if I needed help finding anything or even a hello, the checkout wait time was about 5 mins. "We always end up needing to go into Walmart when we visit Newport. I'm surprised that they haven't turned this one into a Super Walmart yet due to the location. The store is really easy to navigate, and they generally have most of the items we need. I was even able to get insulin from the pharmacy for my daughter while we were there. My main complaint is that a few of the employees are rude. I have endured a couple negative experiences with a couple of them. For example, during one of my visits the employee watched me scan every item in my cart, and then she proceeded to stop me at the door while comparing my receipt to every single item in the basket. The most expensive item in my cart was a small tub of laundry detergent. She then handed my receipt and said "okay, you could go" while glaring at me. There was another employee that stood right behind me to make sure I scanned everything during another visit. She was so close that I could have easily bumped into her if I took a step backwards. I do realize that there is a great deal of theft but, not everyone steals from businesses. It is very uncomfortable to have every move watched and then rechecked when I leave the store. On a lighter note. I had a very pleasant experience with the jewelry counter attendant. The employee was very helpful, and she let me know where I could have the ring resized at a closer location to where I live. She was very patient while I tried on different rings before making my decision. I enjoyed the conversation and interaction with this employee. I wish I would have remembered her name to give her the proper credit. Overall, this Walmart location is okay. They usually have plenty of checkout lines open, and the store is generally well stocked. I've had a decent experience while shopping there other than the few unpleasant employees I've dealt with. I'm usually able to checkout quickly to enjoy the rest of my day or trip."

"Due to the ice storm and subsequent power outage, the perishable food-shelves looked apocalyptic. Cudos to the staff for restocking what they had!"
