Urban Decanter

"I have to leave a review for Urban Decanter. TL;DR - You should go, they’re worth every penny. We’ve been residents of Forest Grove for about a year and a half, and when we first moved here we tried Urban Decanter a few times over the months for dinner. We finally gave up. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Not worth it at all. But a couple months ago we heard they had a new chef who was fantastic. We were leery, but we finally gave them another try. Oh my. Absolutely fantastic. The first time we started with the burrata, and my wife got the cod while I got the chicken paprikash. Everything was absolutely amazing. Absolutely worth it. We went again tonight which prompted this review. They had a weekend menu with a country pork pate with hazelnuts for an appetizer. Oh. Wow. Insanely good. For the entrees my wife got the Mac and cheese, and I got the wine braised short ribs. Again, everything was amazing. Do yourself a favor. Go here. The new chef is a culinary genius. Thank you, Urban Decanter, for stepping it up and becoming true fine dining in Forest Grove."

"Average! This was our first visit to Urban Decanter, and based on the reviews had high hopes. The atmosphere was just okay, the small high top area seemed a bit of a waste of space, they had wrapped some presents for decor (we went around the holidays) which I appreciated but then left the messy rolls of paper next to the wines. I wasn’t sure if they were going for bar, wine bar, nice restaurant or casual - it lacked some identity. The food… I had the mussels which were overcooked, the salad was fine nothing special. The cod lacked flavor and was just okay. The risotto was served in a chilled bowl which made the dish cold and gummy. The service was okay, it was a bit slow but not horrible. I think this place could be great with some tweaking but I would not consider it fine dining, I would rather drive into Carlton or Hillsboro to get a fine dining experience."

"Cozy place with fantastic food and drinks. The service is great, however, the food usually takes a very long time and can be a bit pricey. Most of the time it's worth the wait and money."

"Wowwwwww! Okay, my foodie peeps! You must try Urban Decanter! The restaurant has a beautiful warm cozy atmosphere. The quality of their food was AMAZING!! We went for dinner there for our first vist. We started with a appetizer of Artichoke dip with a fresh baguette roll. I'd have to say that's the best artichoke dip I've ever had! My husband had the Woodfired Bone-In Pork Chop with red potatoes, seasonal vegetables and seasonal whiskey apple barbecue sauce and I had the Woodfired Halibut dinner with mash potatoes, asparagus and seasonal vegetables. My husband said that was the best pork chop he ever had. I have to agree that Pork chop was tender and moist. The Halibut was amazing. Both dinner entrees were cooked to PERFECTION! Last but not least we had dessert Cranberry & Orange bread pudding to-go. Amazing!! We will be back for sure! Our waitress was amazing. She was very attentive and gave great customer service till the end. Compliments to the Chef and staff for a great experience! Thank you guys :))"
