"My wife and I took the walking tour through the French Quarter, offered by the 1850 House Museum. Our tour was conducted by Judy. The tour took a bit over two hours but it certainly didn't seem that long. Judy was not born in the area, but moved here because she liked New Orleans. She took the time to learn about the area and turned that knowledge into becoming a tour guide. Judy told us a great deal about The Quarter, the architecture, and a few local legends. Our tour was well worth the price and I would recommend the tour, and in particular tour guide Judy, if you would like to learn about the New Orleans French Quarter."
"I have been wanting to come and tour for quite some time now. Literally, too long. If you are local or even just visiting, come visit. Admission is very reasonable. This is an historic building, and is not handicapped accessible. It is absolutely beautiful inside. The tour is self guided, but there are signs detailing what sort of room you are looking at, and automated voice recordings of sounds of what life at that time would have sounded like. It was just amazing. Come in! Take a look around."
"The store is small and cute but the value is in the walking tour. Cheryl was a phenomenal guide. The tour goes into areas that you don't typically see as a tourist. And Cheryl gave great detail and interesting facts during it. The tour provides information on the culture, architecture, people, and history of the area. You also get a free ticket to see the museum on the second floor in addition to the walking tour. It is an added bonus they are non for profit."
"Wow, it's a relatively unique and small history experience. However, it definitely rewards patience. You can view and listen to the different exhibits and they actually tell a surprising story about an upper middle class New Orleans family in the antebellum South. Just the staging for the house is wonderful and the story just adds additional joy to the history experience."
