"Enjoyed this on my first day in NOLA. No tickets needed in advance. Has a section on the mint it used to be. Some lovely posters around the venue. The drumming section was my favourite section. The Fats Domino area has some of his stage suits which look great. Staff were very friendly. Concerts on regular and free sometimes. Worth a visit."
"If you really like New Orleans Jazz artists, this is definitely the place to be. On display are many of the instruments from Jazz greats, some of their clothing as well as countless mementoes. The museum is located within the old New Orleans Mint building, which in itself is worth seeing. On the first floor there are displays of things from the Mint days. For us the New Orleans Jazz Museum is definitely worth the time."
"This was a fun little museum just on the edge of the French Quarter. The first floor exhibits about the old mint, the original use of the building, was awesome. There is so much history surrounding that mint and it’s time as both a US and Confederate mint. The second floor houses the Jazz museum exhibits. A bit small maybe, but we’ll portrayed and beautifully put together. Price for entry is absolutely reasonable."
"“Ya like jazz??”~Barry B. Benson. But seriously, if you like jazz or music in any way, you should definitely visit the NOLA Jazz Museum! The museum’s exhibits largely focus on jazz musicians and culture from New Orleans, which was new to me. It was certainly neat to learn about the iconic jazz sounds of the city! Additionally, there’s a smaller museum located within the Jazz Museum about the building’s history as a US Mint. Totally worth visiting, too, and there’s no separate admission for it. Best of all, the museum hosts free jazz concerts throughout the week, one of which I was able to attend! It was such a great time; it’s not everyday you visit a museum with lively jazz music pouring out onto the street!"
