"The entire birth experience was phenomenal from consultation to delivery! The midwives and office staff are compassionate, professional and knowledgeable about all things birth! Another favorable moment is the attention to detail at each appointment throughout the pregnancy. Some highlights of our birth having my husband catch our baby boy, our daughter being present to witness everything (she even timed contractions at home), being able to be at peace during the birth without distractions! This place is a gem. Thank you."
"When I got pregnant with my second child I decided to have a midwife and chose The Natural BirthHouse. At each appointment they were very informative as we discussed what to expect each step of the way and I was not rushed. We got to know each midwife and grew a bond with them which made delivering there so much more comfortable. The calm, relaxing and supportive atmosphere made my decision to have an unmedicated birth one of the best experiences I could have had. Any mom who is looking to have an unmedicated birth that you can choose to deliver in any position that you feel is best I highly recommend checking out The Natural BirthHouse!"
"I HIGHLY recommend The Natural BirthHouse! Everyone is so nice and the midwives are super supportive and knowledgeable. I was treated as an actual person, not just another patient or client. This is the perfect place to give birth if you’re looking for a place to feel at home in!"
"The moment I found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted an out of hospital birth. I called the birth house before my OB and could not be happier with my birth experience. The prenatal appointments were very personal and never rushed and each of the midwives are so caring and informative. I will recommend the birth house over and over again for anyone wanting the most out of their pregnancy/birth experiences."
"I really don't know where to begin with the thanks and praise I want to share about The Natural BirthHouse. I was a first time mom, and the first woman since my great grandparents to even consider birthing outside of a hospital. Kira, Abigail, and Jamie gave me more confidence than I knew what to do with! Every appointment was AT LEAST 45 minutes long, oftentimes lasting well into an hour. I never once left feeling uncertain or uncomfortable. At any time, and with any question, I knew I could reach out to my midwives and they would promptly respond with the answers I needed. I was able to be an active participant at all my appointments, listening to the heartbeat via fetalscope and learning how to decipher babys position with my own hands. If you are even slightly considering delivering at the birth house, DO IT!!! That's your intuition telling you that's the way it's supposed to happen! I ended up testing positive for gestational diabetes and I was referred out to a specialist to make sure baby was healthy while I kept my levels in check. With the unyielding support from my midwives and a lot of hard (but necessary) work, I only had to see the specialist TWICE! He didn't even have to chat with me about interventions because I was so well prepared thanks to the tools I learned from Kira and the gang! I never once felt that I couldn't handle my situation, and my delivery was nothing short of euphoric! Kira was on call the night my son was born and she trusted me to know what my body needed, as well as suggesting position changes and offering encouragement at all the right moments. She even snapped a few pictures when my sister became too engulfed in the process to take them! My boyfriend and sister were in the room with me cheering me on and getting hands on during the whole process. My sister held the mirror and flashlight so I could see my son crowning, and Kira gave my boyfriend gentle nudges to get hands on when he was feeling unsure and overwhelmed. The lights were kept dim, soft music played in the background, and never once did the thought even cross my mind that I may not be able to achieve the birth I was dreaming of. After a few short hours of very minimally interrupted time with my new son, I was back in my own bed! Kira came by a few days later to check on us, and I can't even fully express how grateful I am for the relationship I was able to develop with her through this whole process. I truly feel like I left the birth house experience with new friends, who just so happen to also be midwives! I also happen to be a birth photographer! I was working a birth at the birth house in the early weeks of my pregnancy (eager to soon become a birth house mama), when I witnessed a birth emergency first hand. I've often heard, from those less educated on birth house births, that sometimes midwives "Let an emergency go on too long thinking they can handle it". I'm here to tell you that the midwife working that birth notified the birth assistant to call 911 before the mother was even aware an emergency was happening. There is no pride involved, only the safety of mama and baby! Before I could even give the dispatcher the address, baby was delivered and safe in mama's arms. So please please please listen to the little voice in your head and at least schedule to speak with someone at the birth house! I promise you, even if your birth does not go as planned, you will never regret having the Cajun storks on your team! And if for some reason you don't qualify to deliver outside of the hospital, Kira has a plethora of informative videos on her YouTube channel!"
