"Dr. Harper is an outstanding OB. My delivery was short and smooth. I can’t say enough about my recent delivery experience! I would choose Southern OB a million times over after my experience with not only Dr. Harper but my labor and deliver nurses!"
"I started at Southern OBGYN in 2019 when I moved to Lafayette. It is now 2022 and I’ve only seen Dr. Harper once. They even scheduled my pap with her not even in the office that day. Okay fine, whatever. In April 2022 I found out I was pregnant. Turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. Dr. Harper kind of wrote it off like eh we don’t count those as miscarriages. Again, okay whatever. Then June 2022 I found out I was pregnant again. I called to tell them, they had me come in a month later for my 8 week ultrasound. Unfortunately got diagnosed with a blighted ovum. They said no you’re probably fine, you’re looking like you’re measuring at 6 weeks…when me and my husband both knew that wasn’t possible with the timeline. They gave terrible false hope, and while it sounds nice, I don’t think it should be given in certain instances when it was clear I was miscarrying. She brought us in a room after the ultrasound made us sit for almost a hour before even coming in. Didn’t have any sympathy. Made us do bloodwork, etc. Never went back after I was mistreated after all that and I wont go into details. Finally seeing Dr.Bourque who has been so kind, sympathetic and helpful. I’m excited to start my journey with him. I DO NOT recommend Dr.Harper or Southern OBGYN if you are trying to conceive. Edited to add: I am almost 24 weeks pregnant now with the help of Dr. Bourque figuring out my issue is low progesterone where as southern OBGYN said “it happens, just keep trying”"
"This is my 3rd pregnancy. My last two pregnancies ended at 20 weeks with still born pregnancies. Needless to say this pregnancy has been very stressful for me. I threatened a miscarriage at 6 weeks of pregnancy and had alot of bleeding until this day. I took a picture of my spotting because I noticed some clots in my blood and I was very concerned about it. I told Dr. Bruno I had a pic in my phone and offered to show her but she did not want to see it. She said my ultrasound looked fine so it was okay. Now I know implantation bleeding does occur, but would it have killed her to even look to put my mind at ease ? The icing on the cake for me was when she told me that I need to take it easy which included no cooking, cleaning or lifting, but told me I was able to go back to work! If I couldn't do something as simple as mopping, how would I be able to work in a busy hospital clinic? My boyfriend asked if I shouldn't be on bedrest and she responded saying she wasn't putting her license at risk to put me on bedrest! Also made the comment that she was 34 weeks pregnant and still working! What an insult to someone that has lost 2 kids at 20 weeks! Like where was the compassion? I'm not even guaranteed to carry this baby full term and you make a comment like that. This pregnancy has been extremely stressful for me and my anxiety has been through the roof, so it would have been nice to have a doctor to atleast act like she cared! I will say her nurse Zoie was very sweet, but I've found a new doctor and hopefully he will be more compassionate."
"Dr Harper hands down is the best! In 2016 I had a c-section, done by her and you can barley tell I had one. Through out my whole pregnancy she was wonderful and always brought great energy. I would recommend her to everyone!"
"I had seen Dr Harper when I was 18 and now with my second pregnancy. She is always smiling and gives off such a good engery that I really enjoy going to my appointments! She always makes sure I don’t have any questions left when I leave and is always super nice. I feel very confident with her as my doctor to deliver my son."
