"Worst application experience ever. Persona non grata get lead on and forced arbitrary things like lease rate changes when you sign on the dotted line. Illegal activities from a HUD certified apartment complex. Equal opportunity, more like you're not welcome here!!"
"I am not having a great time here. My unit has an AC that breaks every 2 months and every time it does, it is an absolute struggle to get someone to actually repair it. It's beyond me why they haven't just replaced the AC unit itself. What good is an expensive luxury apartment that's too hot to even live at 4 days every other month because maintenance won't return your calls or have forgotten to call you back. When this ongoing AC saga can get a long-term resolution then I won't mind editing the review to reflect that but this has honestly been a nightmare. P. S.: There is a complex-wide gnat infestation that happens in the summer months. I'm fortunate that my unit is relatively gnat-free; however, consider searching reddit for posts from other renters about it."
"Where do i start. I moved into the crescent about a year and a half ago. Let me start by saying the maintence professional/expert, is the best part about this place. I moved into a studio and it looked decent but the A/C unit kept breaking. The apartments are just old, it had nothing to do with the maintenance man. I then moved into a 2 bedroom with my family and everything was fine, until our fridge went out and management did not order us a new one until 3-4 months later, it was usable but not fixable so a new one had to he ordered and management sat on their hands, making maintenance look bad, but he had no control over ordering a new fridge. I recently moved out and i only got 300 out of my 900$ deposit. The carpet had to be replaced. I understand that but they charged me for cleaning the carpet and replacing the carpet. That makes no sense. And the cleaning fee couldn’t have been for anything else because i cleaned everything, and i took video of the entire apartment. To say the least, i would not move back here because the apartments are older. They need a-lot of remodeling. Management is fine. Nikki is a sweet lady but i feel her decisions come from above her a-lot. Very safe place to move for family. But we had disagreements and I disagree about alot that played out. Not worth getting a lawyer involved but i might."
"I want to say that The Crescent is first class. Ms. Nikki is very professional and represents the Cresent and herself very well and she does an awesome job. She keep me in the loop thur the whole process until they day i move in. It was super clean and I'm very happy. Couldn't ask for more. This is living"
"Some of the reviews below me are a little melodramatic. Yeah the place is a bit old and the apartments aren't the best looking inside, but overall the place was solid. The staff, to me at least, were always friendly and were attentive to any maintenance requests I had. The maintenance guys were really nice and very trust worthy, I never had any issues with them going inside my apt for maintenance requests. Overall the maintenance staff was probably more friendly than the office staff lol. If you really compare pricing to other places in Lafayette the crescent is actually cheaper when you factor in the city club membership and pool. It's much quieter than mainstreet, there is no mildew or rotting balconies. The apartments aren't in long, weird hotel like strips like in mainstreet. The gate doesn't have a code, you use a key which is much safer. The location is really the crescent's biggest selling point. I immensely enjoyed being walking distance from restaurants, bars and coffee shops. I hated Audubon lake which was quite possibly the worst place i ever lived in my life, there was nothing around except lowes and you were always couped up in sardine sized apartments. Never had any parking issues here. I could always park close to my apartment. There isn't covered parking but most places don't have that anyways. The big negatives are the apartments themselves. They are super old, the cabinets and appliances are from the early 90s, ugly white huge microwave and oven. The cabinets are hideous and look like something from a new iberia home. The AC's are old and would give problems once per summer and sound like a rattling mess. Though maintenance was always quick to fix. Never had any pests but it always did have an "old" smell. Though I'd recommend getting a 1st floor or a 3rd floor, and try to meet or ask about your neighbors. I lived for 3 years there and finally got an upstairs guy who was quite possibly the worst neighbor i ever had. I am not joking when I say i think the guy strapped lead to his feet and clomped around. He made life miserable. Though I should thank him because he finally made me bite the bullet and buy a place, but I wouldn't have been able to last another term with him. Management can't really do anything in that situation, the girl in the office shrugged and was like "lol call the cops". I couldn't imagine doing that for another term. anyways, an overall solid place to live. it's actually a bargain for the location."
