Hotel Royal

"Enjoyed our stay here. The room was nice and clean. There is off street parking about a 1/2 block away. The only complaint is that the room door is not sealed tight and you get alot of hallway noise"

"I'm not sure where to start my review although I want to say overall, we had a great time. We stayed in the second floor overlooking the street, which was way fun as far as people watching goes. But I have to warn you, getting to our room on the second floor involved going up, or down, 4 flights of stairs, a sloped deck and a very small door. You have access to the deck through a very heavy to lift window. You have another step if you want to use the bathroom. Now if mobility is an issue, just stay on the bottom floor. The hotel is perfectly placed in the heart of the Quarter, you can't beat it. The employees were professional and helpful. I'll be back"

"I loved this hotel, the uniqueness was what appealed to me. From the little courtyard to the exterior stairwells very French Quarter. I loved the balcony, even though the window slide to get out there needs some fixing it took two of us to open it without damaging ourselves or the glass. The bed was comfy , linens were fresh and crisp and the bathroom was fresh and clean. However the curtains really needed to be cleaned. The bathroom was large and could use a towel hook or two near the shower and a small stand to put toiletries etc on , it was a juggling act to get ready in there. The room also would benefit from a small refrigerator in the humidity ice cold water at night would have been great. All in all the hotel has a great location and great staff. I'd like to mention Lawanda T. She checked us in quickly and checked us out as well. She was extremely helpful and I chatted with her while we waited for our ride, she was a lovely person and it was a pleasure to meet her. She topped off the stay with her great attitude and demeanor!! We will be back ."

"Quirky hotel, deluxe room was small, next priced room was bigger but could only see three quarters of the TV because it was in a closet! Really hard rain came up through the floor of our ground floor room, service was quick to move us to that upgraded room. Rooms were all clean and neat. No elevator, open courtyard to get to the desk from our room. Good location just below Bourbon Street ."

"Beautiful hotel with a lot of history. I loved walking through the corridors and looking at the paintings. When we arrived, we were greeting by friendly staff who gave as a history of the place while showing us to our room, he also gave us advice on where to go and eat and listen to jazz music. It was our first time in New Orleans. All the staff were very friendly and happy to have a chat. Anything we asked of the staff, they were more than willing to assist with. Location was excellent, walking distance to everything, walk down the street to cafes, speciality shops and restaurants. Loved it. The reason for my 3 star for the room, we were in the petite room and it is quite small and tight."
