The Troubadour Hotel New Orleans, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

"Nice hotel within walking distance of fun and food, but largely avoids the noise and crowds. Restaurant and upstairs bar experience were mixed (didn't have fresh eggs for breakfast, was given the wrong drink at bar...but was quickly comp'd). Rooms are small but nice. Elevators were quite slow. Overall a solid option, wish 4.3 stars was a rating option."

"We rented a suite. It was dirty and smelled. Noisy. Music until 1am from the bar. Breakfast had only three items. Toast, waffles and southern breakfast but no bacon. Trying to charge real restaurant prices with no food and everything you could get from free at most cheaper hotels. No thanks. Diamond member but will cancel my Amex. Will not be staying in overpriced slums."

"The hotel staff were typically nice. The location is reasonably close to the French Quarter for walking but not the best. The craftsmanship in the rooms is pretty low quality. They seem slapped together and like they’ve seen better days. Wasn’t the cleanest hotel either, but it’s kind of a party destination, a lot of the other guests were spring breakers who are not kind to their rooms. Also, starting on a Saturday morning at 7AM crews were demo’ing a massive parking garage next to the hotel. That wasn’t cool at all. Lastly, not a big deal, but the bar on I believe the 17th floor was playing R&B music from the last few years so loudly I couldn’t have a conversation with the dude next to me. I appreciate the workers want to jam out but the purpose of this establishment is not so you can drown us out with your music. It’s a hotel bar not a night club."

"Travelled from the UK - great location, away from the heavily visited Bourbon Street noise, but not too far away to walk to it. Staff very helpful, and accommodating. Had a spacious double Queen room. Very clean, coffee maker with pods provided. The rooftop bar was a must-see. Great 360° views of New Orleans. Flight home was a late one, but although check out was 11:00 (we were advised we could have 12:30 too) they stored our bags (no charge) until we were ready to leave, they also arranged our taxi to the airport, and took our bags to the taxi. Will definitely use The troubadour on my next trip."

"Great location, but for an extra 10 bucks a night I'd have preferred to stay at the Hilton garden/Hampton inn. Friendly and helpful front desk was the highlight, and the neighborhood was good; not too busy but close to fun things. Something I've never experienced was that the elevators genuinely detracted from our stay. We had to take stairs twice down and once up to the 15th floor. 3 elevators (two of them quite small) for 17 floors are too few to adequately service the hotel. Staying on a low floor may help your experience. No freight elevators (which is fine), which means every so often you wait for an elevator and can't get in because of housekeeping. There was a sign that stated elevators should only take 5 people, which exacerbated the issue. It's not a huge deal but it bugs me that I got ads to pay for an upgraded room but didn't get a space available upgrade from Diamond status. Had a plumbing issue that got solved quickly and professionally by the front desk and engineer fast - thank you for that!"
