Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans Downtown Near the French Quarter 124 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130

"I was very disappointed with my stay, especially with the first night. I paid $250 for this night, only to end up in a room located next to the lobby and in front of the bar. The only window was facing the corridor that guests were using to reach the elevator, meaning I had no privacy at all. The room was extremely loud. No chance to fall asleep before 11pm, when the hotel bar finally stopped their music. But my rest was very short, as I got woken up again at 3am when drunk customers called someone in the lobby and at 5:20am when a security guard decided that it would be a great idea to blast the bar music again... I had to go out to ask them to shut it down. After asking the front desk several times in the morning, I finally got changed to another room in the afternoon. I had asked the front desk to put me in another room the evening of my arrival, but they told me it was the last room available in the entire hotel. Why you would rent out a loud room between the lobby and the bar is beyond my understanding. The rest of my stay was slightly better, but still pretty low compared to the other Marriott Courtyards I have visited: very unreliable internet, hard to find someone at the front desk some of the times, very little house keeping (I asked for it every other day upon check in, which was confirmed to me, but I didn't get any service until I asked again on thursday!), elevators in poor condition (one of them broken for the first couple of days, and with many broken tiles on the floor), and a very loud exhaust fan in the bathroom that cannot be switched off. Very disappointed with my stay, the hotel staff didn't even offer a refund or a discount for my first night, even though my total bill was >$1700."

"Just left there this morning and it was a good hotel! Nothing wrong like the other reviews say except for: AC was srtruggling but did not affect us because of temp outside and showers a little in need of deep cleanse. This place was perfect for what we needed: close to the action and a good nights sleep. Had NO issues with valet. Front desk clerk was pleasant. Would go back :)."

"For the price I paid for a non-seasonal weekend, this hotel was way overpriced for what it is, rooms are very dated. The bathrooms was extremely tiny, I wouldn't stay here again. I've stayed at Roach Motels that were nicer than this. The front desk agent was extremely short, and snappy. Not very friendly at all."

"Lacking curb appeal from the road. There is a chain link fence across the windows. The lobby/bar area is modern and the staff is very friendly. The bartender was very nice and made excellent drinks. The front desk and cleaning service was dressed more appropriately. The rooms were decent, but the sound echoed due to the laminate flooring. The HVAC system is a bit noisy. If you're a light sleeper you might want ear plugs. The bathroom was not really big enough for two because of the door and it was in need of minor cosmetic repairs. The breakfast menu was short and sweet and pricey. We ate at a nice restaurant 5 min away and had a delicious breakfast for about the same price. They do have a quick store for snacks and drinks near the front desk. There is also an ATM on site so you don't have to worry about using one on the street."
