"This place is awful I don’t understand how it is legal to sell food that has been expired for years. Literally everything is expired here. Got a kombucha and I didn’t check the date and it was so old it made me feel sick. The people are rude and price gouge everything. You are better off going to any other store in this city."
"It's been a a few years since I was here (late 2018), but this store was everything I would hope for in a New Orleans store. Some of the best damn pizza I've ever had."
"We have driven past Mardi Gras Zone for 20 years now, and morbid curiosity finally got the best of us. Judging from the facade and entrance, we would not be disappointed. Instead, we discovered a formidable inventory of interesting goods, plus name brands. The depth and breadth of their offerings were quite impressive for a neighborhood store. What a fun find for the Bywater grocery store food desert we live in. It'll be good for last-minute odds-and-ends, and far-flung food finds, when we don't want to make a run to a major grocery store. The owner and staff are sweet, too."
"A really cool and unique bodega. The produce on hand was not fresh and had a good deal of mold, but everything else was completely fine. The woman who assisted me with my purchase was very lovely, suggested I return when they start the pizza ovens open for business soon. If I lived in this town, I definitely would, unfortunately I’m just a passersby, but I definitely recommend this little humble spot for some basic goods, whether unique or familiar to you."
"My partner and I are staying in an Inn up the block. We are vegan and wanted a snack when we landed but it was late so we thought maybe this little store may have some chips or something and were really surprised by the options they had there. We ended up getting some Mary’s Gone Crackers and Myokos vegan cheese, some cold brew with almond milk and a bunch of other stuff that we put in the minifridge for the trip. Staff are super nice. It’s a good store."
