"My wife and I arrived in New Orleans after a full day of driving. We were really hungry and really tired. Thankfully we found v&t food store. This is not a fancy place, it is a truly authentic neighbourhood place with amazing takeout food. We got a couple of Po Boys (shrimp and hamburger) and took them back to our place, best sandwich I've ever had. No kidding. Oh I almost forgot, get the GUMBO. Brilliant. And kicks the butt of any fancy restaurant in the quarter. We were so impressed we went back on Christmas Eve and got food for Xmas Eve and Xmas day, it was awesome. The food was utterly amazing, people were friendly, they made us feel right at home. The place can look a little intimidating from the outside but don't be fooled. Highly recommended."

"My mom and I went here. If you want po boys and hot boiiiz at the same time this is the place for you. Kinda wild, who knew you could deep fry anything. I swear if you ask jimmy(the guy behind the bar) $15 he’ll deep fry your sisters flip flops and it will taste like filet mignon. Anyhoo life’s good at V&T& me."
