Gris-Gris is a renowned restaurant located at 1800 Magazine Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since its opening in 2018, Gris-Gris has quickly become a favorite neighborhood spot, offering refined Southern cuisine and local favorites in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has received numerous accolades, including being named Eater New Orleans’ Reader’s Choice for Restaurant of the Year and Chef of the Year in 2018, as well as New Orleans City Business’ Restaurant of the Year in 2018.
The first floor of Gris-Gris features a dining counter that wraps around the kitchen, providing guests with an intimate experience with the chef and kitchen staff. The second floor boasts a stylish bar and indoor/outdoor balcony seating. The menu at Gris-Gris includes classic Southern dishes and New Orleans favorites such as shrimp and grits, chicken and dumplings, oyster and caviar poboys, and a classic redfish court-bouillon. A must-try dish is the "Oyster BLT," which features fried gulf oysters, smoked pork belly, tomato jam, and arugula. The restaurant also serves a full New Orleans-style brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
Executive Chef & Owner, Eric Cook, is a native of New Orleans and a combat veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps. With a background that includes working at top restaurants in New Orleans and appearing on television shows such as Top Chef New Orleans, Chef Cook brings a wealth of culinary experience to Gris-Gris. In 2021, Cook opened his second restaurant, Saint John, in the French Quarter, specializing in haute creole cuisine that pays homage to the city’s rich culinary traditions.
In addition to his culinary endeavors, Chef Cook is a passionate advocate for the United States military and his hometown of New Orleans. He is involved in various charitable organizations and volunteers his time to support causes such as Wounded Warriors and The American Red Cross. With its delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to giving back to the community, Gris-Gris is a must-visit dining destination in New Orleans.

"We had brunch at Gris Gris this past Sunday, and enjoyed their wonderful outdoor patio. The staff was incredibly friendly, patient, and accommodating to our group! The food was FANTASTIC! I had the "deconstructed" Oyster BLT, which was INCREDIBLE, and shared the delicious pulled-pork Benedict with my wife! The flavors were incredible! We would highly recommend Gris Gris to ANYONE visiting or living in New Orleans, and will definitely return the next time we visit the city! It was within easy walking-distance to our Air B&B located in the Garden District! 10/10-will definitely come back again!"

"Food and drinks were nice. Staff was awkward and talking amongst themselves a little too much. Presentation of food is great. Sitting at the kitchen table I wish I saw tomatoes and other bits being washed instead of straight out of the container. Also cell phone touching mid prep was a Turnoff. But they’ve got some good food going on. I’d chance it again."
"The balcony space was so nice!! Loved their appetizers even more than entree. The oyster BLT and chicken gizzard were both really delicious. Lamb shank and shrimp grits were great as well."
