Ernst Cafe

"Right around the corner from Harrah’s Hotel, we found Ernst Cafe. I was wavering between the gumbo and jambalaya; the waiter said the gumbo had both and he wasn’t wrong. It was basically 2 blackened chicken breasts on a bed of jambalaya rice with a gumbo sauce and I’m loving it. Wouldn’t hesitate to get it again."

"I’ve been here a few times for an office holiday party as well as bringing friend from out of town. The photos of the food are terrible lighting that I took, but the food was good. I recommend the southwest egg rolls, but they have a bit of heat at the end! This bar is among the most affordable when it comes to drinks. Also, the floor has a design that tends to make people double take and question what’s going on, but there is a plaque on the wall explaining this."

"You cannot beat the price point here. $1 to $3 for all of their beers, It is impossible. Solid service too. I don't personally recommend the food as I have not tried it. But I have heard that the roast beef sandwich which is made in house is outstanding."

"Two old high school buddies' girls trip, we really enjoyed our recent trip to New Orleans, kicked off with supper at Ernst's, at the end of the street from Harrah's. It was a great place, great service, good conversation with our waitress, and the gumbo was very good - not too hot or spicy - just 'enough.' We ended our week with a supper at Ernst's as well. Highly recommend. The nighttime atmosphere was cool, just to sit outside (on the bacony if you can), and look over the buildings, cobblestone streets, wrought-iron railings and decorations was special. Something you sit and soak in."
