"What a treasure! We stayed at peak season in middle July. The campground was fully booked but didn't feel crowded. As you will see from other reviews, Rachel and Don have poured their hearts and souls into this place. The campground is clean, tables and large shade umbrellas are all new. Porta Potties are ample and close to sites (without being too close!). Dish washing stations are handy as well. Note that there is no electricity and potable water is available nearby but not right in the campground. Don saved the day for us when we were prepared to leave but our car battery had died. He gave us a jump and sent us off with a smile. Highly recommend!"
"I stayed here the past weekend with a whole bunch of my friend and it was so beautiful and they were really friendly and open to big groups. And the camp sites were right on the river and it was gorgeous. They had a open field that you could set up volleyball, and a fish hatchery that had some HUGE fish! There was a nice walk down to the river and you could lay on the beach and skip rock or fish. And the people who own this campground were so sweet and friendly. And have the cutest dog ever! I even got to see deer running through the campground:) This campground is also about a 15 minute from the town forks and there’s a really beautiful lake 10 minutes out from the place as well. So it’s located around things to go do. The campgrounds had tables, umbrellas for over the table, fire pits, different types of cooking grills for over the fire, and a lot of space. The campground also has areas to wash your dishes and buy firewood if you ever ran out or just didn’t bring any. I’d highly recommend coming here if you’re in the area or want to get away for the weekend."
"Rachel keeps this campground up daily. Which is something I haven’t seen in a lot of campgrounds I have stayed here in Washington, Montana or Idaho. Everything is very tidy and well put together, not a single area of the campground is neglected in any form. While camping here you have access to the boat launch for fishing or swimming in the river ( I recommend swimming the lower river). Great for dogs to swim too. This campground is pet friendly!! Yay! The camp spots on the river have a trail running down to them if you are wanting to get to the river that way too. Hearing the river as you are going to bed is so relaxing. There is a fish hatchery just across the road as well. It’s nice to walk around and give yourself some food for thought. My friend and I learned a few things about the fish hatchery in the viewing room. Bathrooms are just across the way from the camp sites. They are kept really clean. My friend and I were worried what we might find as we never expect much from honey buckets but I saw our camp host cleaning them the second morning of our stay and with every use I noticed these were probably the cleanest honey buckets I have used! This camp site feels incredibly welcoming and on top of that SAFE for families with kiddos or just lone campers who want to get away. There is a cute mini grocery shop and gas pumps about 10 minutes down the main road they have so many options for snacks and ICE CREAM! Make sure you go take a gander at this place as the outside decor is super cute and the staff are friendly. You are about a 30 minute drive from the Sol Duc falls. Prepare to struggle to find parking during certain times of the season at the falls. You can also go to the hot springs near the falls there too. Some people were hiking all the way to deer lake! Which is always an option if you are prepared! I’m coming back to Dawleys Sol Duc campground. I will be bringing my family and a few family friends next time. I want more people to know what a treasure this place is! Go camp here & enjoy your stay!"
"Beautiful place, friendly owner. Rachel was extremely helpful; she assisted me in setting up my tarp and provided a great suggestion for my site. The grounds are magnificent and the smell of the air is clean. The river is just loud enough to be a perfect white noise. Worth a visut"
"Camped here early last October and loved my stay! The hosts (I believe it was Rachel and her husband Don) were so friendly and went above and beyond. I called before getting there asking where I could get some fresh caught salmon in town and they actually called around and found a restaurant for me that had it that night, and it didn’t disappoint! They also came and checked on me (in a non-invasive way) once while I was unpacking and once in the (late) morning, which was nice because I was solo. I reserved a few days in advance but ended up having the place almost to myself because of the season. I had site 12 I believe, which was right on the river and even though it was technically walk-up, it was only like 50 feet away and they had a wheelbarrow. It was well cleared but also private enough that even if the campground was full it wouldn’t have felt that way. There were plenty of other nice and personalized touches too like the dish washing station, info board, firewood, lighted pathways, and clean porta potties. No running water but I knew in advance and brought 5 gallons so it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, you can tell that the hosts put a lot of love into this place. And the location is great, as it’s close to forks (enough that I even had some LTE with T-Mobile), riverfront, and in a beautiful forest. There’s a cool hatchery just up the street too. I almost regret telling people about this place but the hosts deserve the business and I can’t wait to stay here again! Pro tip: walk barefoot when you’re not on the gravel. Don told me to do this and it was really cool, the ground almost felt spongy."
