Black Pine Hot Tubs & Swim Spas

"I’ve been a hot tub addict for 30 years and, recently it was time to replace our 13 year old Grandee. We were anxious to acquire a luxury tub that would last a life time. After shopping around and even consulting Hot Tub University, we bought a Master Spa which turned out to be a big disappointment. We never even put a drop of water into it, the skirt removal process is absolutely stupid, typical marketing design, solely to achieve a look with no consideration to practicality. Afterwards, we gave Black Pine a visit since they were able to provide the type of spa we wanted without much delay. (Master Spa’s delivery was promised as 3-4 weeks, it took 17 & 1/2 weeks to arrive. From the first visit at Black Pine, Rachel was a tremendous help and she’s the reason we made the final decision to purchase an Artesian Elite spa from them. Without a doubt the best spa we’ve ever had. It is similar to Jacuzzi’s large unit that Hot Tub University listed as one of the best. But, they have failed to update their list of “Best” units. We learned that Jacuzzi has changed hands and is now built in Mexico. Do your research before buying one of those, the negative reviews are off the chart. And, don’t let anyone convince you that you’ll “float up” from the lounger unit on the Artesian spa. They’ve mastered the design of the lounger unit, it’s simply heavenly, as are the other seats as well, each seat has its own pump and controller. Wish you all well in you pursuit of a hot tub…"

"Beware that they extremely over-inflate their prices. Thought we were getting a good price as they stated it was the "fair price" as in the reduced price at the State Fair. We put a deposit down and later found a place called NW Swim Spas in Elma that sold the exact same brand and models for thousands less. Our deposit was to hold the price only and did not actually start an order for a hot tub but when asked if we could get our deposit back the company said no. Our fault for not researching better but please don't let this happen to you. Black Pine way over prices their tubs. Do your research and check out NW Swim Spa. The owner was wonderful to work with and explained why they can sell the exact same products for less. Do yourselves a favor and do not get ripped off by Black Pine! **Response to company's response** The company in Elma, NW Swim Spa, has been around for decades and they sell the exact same brands and models at prices that are not nearly as over priced as yours. The owner looked at your quote and showed me how you had marked up items that were already meant to be included in the retail price. He showed me his mark up and as a business needs to make a profit but is not gouging customers as your company is. Your price quoted to us was anything but under retail... it was well over priced. And we did move and it was very upsetting that you would not refund our deposit. It was made clear to us that the deposit was to hold the price only and was not an order and we had one year to actually place the order. When we did contact you about the refund, you just stated you would not give it back even though it was just to hold a price, which you say had dropped significantly, yet you would give us this new lowered price you say now exists. Anyway, say what you will, I'm just letting others know they need to shop around and they will find that your prices are far too high and they can get the exact same hot tub elsewhere at a much lower price."

"We bought a Wellis hot tub from them. We did not receive a walk through upon delivery. An area of improvement. Our pumps were not working. Rachel tried to walk me through how to release air lock on the phone. I could not. She came out that night, after hours, and helped us. The next day, we noticed a water leak. We submitted a repair request. We pushed for a quick fix due to it being new. Repair was scheduled for a Monday. Leak was factory leak. Overall, our service has been good. But customer service could be better. Push to get what you need done."

"***UPDATE*** Was 5 stars now 2 stars. ;( I have called 5 times in 2 weeks with no calls back. The last call I even told them I’m going to call the manager and leave my negative experience in a review if I don’t get a call back and still no call back. Maybe the original company sold out to a new owner I don’t know. Service sucks here. I have a simple service issue. I have left detailed messages that my control panel says my heater is dry. I’m sure it’s a simple fix if they would just return my voice messages. I have also spoke with staff twice and said they would contact the right person and call me but that never happened either. I saw them at the fair again, I think they want the big commission sales and are not focusing on after sale service. ————— ****Was 5 stars*** Saw these guys at the Puyallup fair 2013. Shopped all of the competing spa companies. Shark infested waters!! Everyone has a song and dance. The sales person was real - very knowledgable - and very competitive. Proices were all out in the open - nothing was hidden!! Total transparency. I did not have a budget, per se' but wanted the best quality for the money spent. I felt this was the best money could buy without breaking the bank. 2 months later...these guys delivered. The delivery was a challenge. But Michael made it right. They had not one but 2 crews come out to save me from hiring a crane service (Lake Tapps area), they had a flat bed with mobile fork lift and a big crew on site. Smooth delivery and installation. The installers helped me open up a chain link fence to grant more access and re-installed the fence. (Over and beyond the call of duty). I gave them coffee and $100 bucks for lunch - they loved it!! The install crew was careful and thoughtful. Called me on certain items to get my preference. Its full of water now and getting hot. Will take a dip with the family tomorrow. Very happy. Thrilled! These guys are pros and communication is a 10!!! (Important to me) New Brunswick Billiards table next week - I cant wait. I would buy again from these guys without question. Thanks Michael!!"
