"This man made jetty blows your mind at a glance. The jetty challenges anglers to catch a trophy fish and dare surfers to ride the wave. The jetty fishing isn't really for everybody tho, - an accidental fall can be deadly, so hike/fish the jetty at your own risk. There are minks living in the rocks, pelicans comes in thousands to feed from late April and leaves in July. Sea otters and harbor seals come in as family to hunt or just surf. I have seen a big grey whale swimming along the jetty on the ocean side as well. I love this place. Always welcomes everybody."
"Crowded beach. Popular surf spot. There are plenty of other beaches and parking close by. Good vibes from everyone and the scenery is gorgeous. Worth the long walk"
"Always incredible to experience the Pacific Ocean. It is a VERY long and rocky hike out to the end of the jutty but I highly recommend you go as far as you can. JUST REMEMBER, you have to hike back the same distance, do not over extent yourself!!! P.s. It is Always windy and often cold..."
"Probably my favorite place to visit in Westport! Walk along the beach and explore the jetty. Quite a few people around on a Sunday, but it never felt like it was crowded. Wear good shoes for walking along the jetty since the rock isn't completely level and can be a slick at times. The day we visited, we were able to watch some of the surfers and fisherman farther down. Spotted quite a few pelicans and a sea lion on our way back in. Can't wait to go back!"
"Pretty epic hike along the rocks. There isn't any elevation change, but the further you go out, the larger the rocks get (along with the spaces between them). The last few hundred meters are pretty disgusting thanks to the seagulls and pelicans. All in all it was well worth the hike out, just be careful. Even a minor slip could result in a major injury, and getting back would be really difficult and extremely slow"
