Reviews of Manor Homes at Hickory Manor
"My Husband and I have owned many homes over the years with several being new construction. Of all our homes, we can honestly say the Dragas contract, building, finance, closing and warranty processes have been the most streamlined and convenient over everyone else. The kindness and enthusiasm of the Dragas Site Realtors are far beyond that of others. Their expertise and patience allowed our home purchase to be effortless and enjoyable. They really set you up for success and keep in constant communication with you along the way. The quality of our Dragas built home has far exceeded our expectations to the tune of purchasing with them twice. The amenities within our neighborhood have allowed us to feel as though we live in a resort without leaving our home. I can't express enough just how happy we are with our Dragas built home. THANK YOU to the entire Dragas Company for doing it right!!!"
"Decided to go with Dragas after a less than par experience with Ryan. Ryan homes is a dream compared to Dragas! Dragas is horrible, they lie about when you close on your home. They’ve been doing this for years. We were destitute for two months while incurring storage costs. I understand any new home lets the builder have a wide range of finishing, but a month later than the original date is okay???? Morgan was great, but Lori was an absolute horror and lied every step of the way. She just talks to talk. I will never buy from Dragas again because of the experience and the quality of the home is poor. I haven’t been in my home for a month and I’ve had to replace many items. I have “mountains” in my carpet, replaced all of the EXTREMELY LOW QUALITY appliances, low quality faucets, tile imperfections that should’ve been caught, a garbage disposal that couldn’t cut a hand, sand in my backyard, they don’t clean the house before you move in, and having to fix doorways/doors with a planer myself, etc... Their quality control needs to improve and apparently their employees need retraining. Do not buy from this company if you care about living in your home for the long run. Be honest DRAGAS! It has been a money pit! Don’t ask to e-mail marketing or call, as I won’t. I refuse to have you redirect. Edit: So, us begging Morgan and Lori for a closing date was just absolutely made up? E-mails/texts to prove the correspondence? Yes, the garage side entrance has been entered through warranty and still hasn’t been fixed. The caulking around our windows still hasn’t been fixed. Carpet hasn’t been entered through warranty, as we contemplated replacing it right away. I’m sorry we haven’t entered repairs into warranty right away, as we were having to make our home livable. You’ll be receiving a warranty claim sometime soon. If you could only be a part of the hickory manor Facebook page and see all of the homeowners complaining about the HVAC, windows, plumbing, etc. Recently a homeowner found out there was a nail in her kitchen drain line, emptying out water into her kitchen…That’s just the newest thing…"
"My buyers and I had a fantastic experience with Morgan throughout the transaction! Smooth and easy process resulting in a top-notch quality home. Highly recommend reaching out to Dragas to build your dream home!"
"Updated 8/12/23 (Year #3) Continues to be a really good neighborhood. Dragas has quality control issues, luckily no further issues just make sure you hire an inspector prior to warranty expiration. Their sales staff was helpful but take what they tell you with a grain of salt. They are often are very misinformed (I think is not malicious). Warranty update: Dragas has a responsive warranty department which helps with their quality control gaps. The warranty does not have a sense of urgency they’re not in a hurry regardless of the issue so be ready to be the first line of defense. The warranty staff is very nice though. The neighborhood itself has mostly very nice people with a very few inconsiderate owners. The very vast majority are nice friendly people. This neighborhood is an HOA, but one of the most relaxed HOA’s in our experience (not a good or bad thing just something you should consider). I don't have complaints about the HOA so far... Is a very friendly, safe neighborhood and mostly quiet."
"I recently had the opportunity to reside in the Hick Manor community and would like to provide an honest and professional review of my experience. While there are some positive aspects to the neighborhood, I believe there are several areas that need improvement in order to provide residents with a truly satisfying living experience. HOA Fees and Value for Money: One of the main concerns I have with Hick Manor community is the value for money in relation to the HOA fees. Considering the amount paid in HOA fees, it is my opinion that one can find better communities that offer more amenities and services. It's essential for residents to carefully evaluate the benefits provided by the community against the cost of living there. Inadequate Amenities: The community's amenities, particularly the pool and gym facilities, do not meet the needs of a community of this size. The pool is relatively small, making it difficult to accommodate all residents, especially during peak times. Similarly, the gym lacks updated equipment and is sometimes non-functional. Improvements in these areas would greatly enhance the quality of life for residents. Complex Payment Process: The convoluted payment process is a significant inconvenience for residents. Having to navigate through three different websites to determine the payments for Hick Manor HOA, Westfield Condo Assessment, and water bills is time-consuming and frustrating. Simplifying the payment process by consolidating the information into a single platform would greatly benefit the residents. Quality of Construction: The craftsmanship and quality of materials used in the construction of the houses in Hick Manor community leave much to be desired. It appears that cheaper materials were utilized, which can lead to various issues in the long run. It would be beneficial for the community management to prioritize using higher-quality materials and ensuring attention to detail during construction. Lackluster Customer Service: Customer service within the community is a significant area of concern. The staff often seems misinformed and fails to provide satisfactory assistance. Given the amount residents invest in the community, it is essential to improve the level of customer service to ensure residents feel valued and have their concerns addressed promptly and accurately. Conclusion: In conclusion, while Hick Manor community has some positive aspects, such as a pleasant neighborhood and friendly neighbors, there are several areas that require attention and improvement. The value for money in relation to the HOA fees, inadequate amenities, complex payment process, subpar construction quality, and lackluster customer service all detract from the overall living experience"
