"This place finally brings hope to the Seattle fine dining scene!! Having eaten the majority of the World’s Best 50 restaurants, as well as all the top restaurants in Seattle, I had crowned Altura the best in the area. But T&J is more in the same league as those on the World’s 50 Best list in terms of overall experience and quality. The dinner tasting menu was heavily gluten-free and vegetarian, uniquely plated, and executed with creativity and cutting-edge presentation. The flavors were explosive at times, and though we didn’t love every dish (some we didn’t care to finish, actually), there were some that were just incredible! In summation, every effort was memorable, and we appreciated the bold combinations and adventurous experiments of flavors. Coming from a world-class traveler/foodie, I feel that Tarsan I Jane is a world-class dining experience for Seattle (though the service is not as exceptional as the international or Michelin restaurants), and for that I'm not only grateful, but relieved. Maybe Seattle could possibly be a future contender in the global foodscape after all."
"We are so fortunate to have this level of creativity using locally sourced ingredients in Seattle. We opted for the Private Experience and was not disappointed. The staff was very knowledgeable about the beautiful food being presented along with the paired wines. Thank you for a wonderful two and a half hours touring the unique flavors!"
"Right next to Frelard pizza, this cozy space is a culinary adventure and a treat. Definitely plan to show up right on time, because this entire meal is orchestrated and complex, and you don't want to miss a second. We had over 12 courses, starting with the more filling and savory dishes and ending with the lighter, then sweeter, bites. Each plate is delivered to each guest in one choreographed movement by the staff, then described in beautiful detail before we each bite into the exquisite food. The courses are each inspired by the chefs childhood experiences in Valencia, as well as inspiration from ingredients found in the Pacific Northwest. I was completely full by course 10 but you just want to keep eating because the creations of food and flavors are nothing like you've seen or experienced before. Beyond the food, the service was phenomenal. Very attentive, engaging staff who took the time to get to know your preferences (shared beforehand when you make your reservation) and they make sure to personalize your dining experience. Even just a little thing: there is a bottle of water (still or sparkling) behind the counter of each guests seat, and the staff will reach under and refill your water glass anytime it goes down. I drink a lot of water and this stood out to me! I also thought that because of the small number of people that we'd be talking with one another (which could be awkward) but despite sitting side by side, in one row, it felt very much like we were in our own bubbles. The music was loud enough that you weren't overhearing others conversations and the space is large enough that you don't feel crammed together. It's a very beautiful space actually! This is a one of a kind meal for Seattle and nothing in our quirky little city is quite able to match it. Worth the time and absolutely worth the price!"
"This is an amazing experience led by a Valencian husband and wife chef / owner duo. The Paella brunch experience is one definitely worth remembering. This five course menu is centered around an open fire roasted paella for your guests to share. The Valencian chef combines his hometown experiences with PNW influences as evidenced by the wild foraged mushroom paella we so much enjoyed. The remainder of the meal was well liked too but the paella is clearly the star. All the food was enjoyed with home made infused gins that are the other specialty of the house. This is a definitely a special restaurant in Seattle and all visitors should make this special stop. We will definitely be back to enjoy their full tasting menu experience! You can count on it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"I've been fortunate to have eaten at many spectacular restaurants, but I've never had a meal that compared to the eighteen brilliant courses that were served to me at this wonderful establishment. The level of creativity in plating, ingredients, and concept was unparalleled. The cocktail menu is comprised of fascinating turns on the gin & tonic, which aids your digestion. The restaurant is small with few patrons, and amazingly, the chef is right there, helping to not only serve you but also clear away your dishes. He has great taste in music, too, which made the nearly four hour epic meal go by in a flash. I cannot rave enough about this tremendous experience."
