Astoria Rescue Mission
About the Business
Astoria Rescue Mission, located at 62 West Bond Street in Astoria, Oregon, is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering assistance to those in need. Serving as an ARM of local churches, our mission is to reach out to the "least, the last, and the lost" in our community. We strive to help individuals develop a relationship with Jesus Christ, providing physical, spiritual, and emotional support to all who come to us.
Our "New Life" Discipleship Program focuses on teaching clients to be students and followers of Christ. We offer daily Bible studies, chapel services, counseling, and support for higher education and employment opportunities. Our goal is to help individuals transition to independence, securing their own residence and a stable future.
At Astoria Rescue Mission, we provide nights' lodging, three meals a day, showers, laundry services, and essential items such as warm clothing, sleeping bags, hats, and gloves. Additionally, we reach out to those in need in our community by offering lunches and supplies between Astoria and Seaside.
Our mission is guided by the principles of serving the "least, the last, and the lost," as described in the Bible. Through our work, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of those facing hardship and adversity in our community.

"I agree withe other negative reviews. They are liars, take your things and constitutional rights, and are fat greedy criminals who lie about Jesus and Christianity while scamming the donations and treating people like prisoners and slaves. They need to get rid of them slobs and the Astoria rescue mission with the right leaders would be a great asset to the homeless and those without family. Someone investigate the folks running that place and you'll find there no good scumbags. Not the fault of Astoria or the people who need shelter and jobs. As they say the keep you impoverished and don't help you get employment or a real home or apartment. How is that helping solve anything. They wasted all the money in themselves eating McDonald's. And buying Stuff for themselves not any shelter residents. get them out of there."
"Being Cristian based it is a place that you feel safe. Plus it has its small chapel service. And it dicent in its cleaniness. I recommended for someone in town needing a place to stay for a couple of nights."
"I called this organization shortly after finding myself in the area... I was told at the time the womens house of hope was closed and the men's mission had nothing to offer me. I was redirected to this organization and told I would be provided laundry and shower services. The upkeep and running of this is absolutely abhorrent. The outreach provided by house members is a great attempt at overcoming obvious issues, with that said. This place needs HELP! check updated pics of exteriors. Hope to see real changes soon. Faulty facade: I hear your cries... Improve to be made whole."
"I came to the door the 1st night and I felt as if I was bein' treated like a Convict/Terrorist, I felt very wierd so didn't stay! The people were acting kinda sketchy and ask for way too much information & try to seize all Your stuff, wierd vibes all around kinda like a cult?!!"
"God bless all who enter, don't be so quick to judge. I was there for a short time, and they are very grounded in the Lord. It is a house of God, and they who run it are awesome! So if you truely are looking for the right help, this is all God based. God Bless them all who run these homes for us all that are in need. In Jesus name amen"
