"It was a big museum with an extensive collection with a lot of variety. It was just a variety that I wasn't too interested in. They did have this amazing piece: a mouse sitting on a person in bed. It was so silly I love it. Other than that one piece, I didn't feel much for the rest of the museum The gift shop was also pretty big, and the museum even has a coat check for large bags that aren't allowed."
"Wow! I’m very impressed of this place! I bought my ticket online (you should too to avoid the line up). They have a complimentary coat/bag check. This museum has so many stuff to see like it’s a lot and I could probably spend hours and hours in here but I only got limited amount of time. I never thought this museum would be very very busy and it was a long line up to see the special exhibition by a Japanese artist Hokusai. Nonetheless it was a good experience for me and I would visit this museum again in the near future."
"After living in Seattle for almost a decade, we went to the Seattle Art Museum for the first time to check out the Hokusai Exhibit. We had adults, teenagers, and kids in our group, and there was something for everyone. I completely regret not coming here previously. We had an exceptional time with the entire museum, not just the Hokusai exhibit. There was such a vast selection of art that was inclusive of so many different locales as well as time periods. It was very digestible and relaxed. The employees were all friendly and knowledgeable."
"It's been awhile since I've visited the museum, but the Hokusai Exhibit was the main reason to finally pay a visit. This is one of the most impressive exhibits I have seen at this museum in a while. It covered a good portion of the top floor, exhibiting works not only from Hokusai and his students, but other artwork inspired by Hokusai. Aside from this exhibit, the SAM ensures that works, workshops and lectures are curated and representative of diverse backgrounds. Admission is fairly priced, but come during a weekday if you plan to drive and find parking on the street. Parking garages are available nearby."
"This is a very beautiful and interesting place to visit in Seattle. I bought the tickets on site and the staff was very gentle and friendly. They have very interesting discounts for seniors and students. I would recommend to start your visit on Floor #4 and then visit Floor #3. The exposition “Share your Story” was one of my favorites because you can interact with the art and be part of it. It made me feel part of the museum and the community. Keep in mind that the museum closes at 5pm, so if you want to visit the Gift Shop, reserve at least 15-20 minutes for that. I enjoyed this place very much."
