"I have lived here for 2 years & I feel like it has been a good experience! I enjoy our space, the neighbors are friendly enough, it’s in a pretty convenient location! It is a gem in this area in my opinion. Emma is straightforward and pretty communicative. We’ve always had our maintenance problems resolved quickly."
"Mail doesn’t come because the landlord won’t get new boxes even though they have been told numerous times by the post office to fix them. The owner kept tearing off the signage warning tenants of the mail not being delivered. All the apartments have leaks due to recalled piping. Everything is out dated and old. The thermostat fell off when I touched it. The apartment manager dismisses every problem that arises. The kitchen sinks are falling through the counters. Mold continues to be a problem and concern because they won’t fix the leaky pipes."
"I lived there for 5 years before I moved out of the state. Emma was awesome. When things were tough, she worked with me when I had some financial difficulties. My experience there was a pleasant one and when I needed maintenance work done. It was done in a very timely manner."
"This has been the worst apartments I have lived at. The office manager Emma is unstable to say the least. She is neglectful to maintenance even when it is dangerous. She has a history of refusing to repair walkways in the breezeways, porches are literally falling apart on top of other porches also above where people hangout outside, the playground is a death trap. The maintenance man had do not enter signs on it and and Emma tore them off without a care to the safety of the children in the complex. The pool is constantly closed when it is advertised as yet round, closing at 10pm because Emma “can not be bothered with it.” I asked her why she no longer accepts packages and she not only started verbally attacking me, accusing me of posting signs putting her down? She tried to then gaslight and manipulate saying she can’t talk to me because “I twist what she says.” Then package receiving was magically taken off the website. Emma goes against the fair housing laws by being selective in what packages she accepts. There is enough parking for each unit to have two spaces but again she allows some units to have 3-4 and some to have 1. I’m almost positive there is even one unit without a spot. My washer was broken for 6 months, she refused to even communicate about it. My dryer is now broken. I had to threaten getting the state involved because of my kids to get her to even acknowledge the problem. I’m still waiting a month later with no word on anything happening. And you bet I’m paying full price for all this. She tried to blame the maintenance man which everyone knows he is the positive of this place. He fought for a new washer for me. She constantly tries to blame everything on him all while screaming and harassing people. She has called me multiple times. At work. Over some cardboard in the trash. Learn the rules Emma dirty food covered cardboard can not only be recycled it is completely unprofessional to call your tenants and yell and harass them for multiple days about it. Emma evicted someone the other week and the whole building knew because she was outside scream and threatening them. Unprofessional. The pipes in an apartment have bust above mine. I’m worried about mold. Emma hasn’t even reached out once. I have a hole in my ceiling. Drenched flooring and moisture in an apartment where the heaters don’t work. And once again Emma is fighting tooth and nail to do anything about to save a few bucks. The newest drama is the post master is reporting they will be stopping delivering ANY mail soon until Emma replaces the mail boxes, she’s been warned for years and is still refusing to do it. Soon us tenants won’t get our mail delivered to our own mailboxes. Also the review by Vitali- he is a contractor padding the numbers. Update as of 12/15- My dryer magically arrived today, wow how magical it appears right after I post a review. Nothing else has even been looked at or talked about. Emma there is still HUGE concerns here. Emma is still refusing to communicate she even went so far to call my husband knowing full well I take care of things and was the one to post this review and then she tried to bribe him with the new dryer to remove my review. Wow. If it wasn’t for James, the maintenance man she’d be on her power trip still holding my dryer hostage. Update as of 12/27 No one from the office has yet to reach out, check the leak, fix the walls, etc. still. Emma do better."
""WARNING FROM A LONG-TIME RESIDENT" I've lived here for 8 years now, for your own sake don't move in here. Read the portion at the bottom to see why ESPECIALLY RIGHT NOW (NOV/DEC 2023) you should rent somewhere else. The management condescendingly waves away maintenance issues when brought to their attention, they de-prioritize issues and will do everything they can to drag out / delay repairs outside of plumbing and electrical issues. 2016 - I requested our oven be repaired due to a broken safety light (it indicates when the oven is on or off), she told me it would be too expensive "just to replace a little light". The second time I asked I was told I would need to wait for another similar model to break so they could steal the motherboard from it to repair mine. This never happened. 2018 - The thermostat stopped working correctly, so in addition to not having a working indicator light, the oven would occasionally jump to 500 or 600 degrees while cooking for no apparent reason, ruining dozens of meals, damaging cookware, and posing a safety risk. I got told for YEARS my worries weren't important, even though it was a very clear fire hazard. It took until 2022 for them to replace the oven. 6 YEARS. This apartment complex has a history of not maintaining the concrete stairwells (see images), myself and a former roommate have had them crumble underneath us, my roommate was injured when he fell through and cut his leg on the concrete. There's very limited parking here, forcing people to pay for covered parking with prices that have gone up repeatedly since 2015. The pool is almost never available, if you bring your own test strips the chemicals are not within a safe / antibacterial range (I took almost a dozen samples / photographs over a year's time whenever I'd visit the gym) The pool / gym was advertised as 24/7 when I moved in however it's only available when the manager/maintenance is present, otherwise the door is locked. They don't see fit to reduce fees despite reducing amenities. You're required to pay a security service fee as part of your rent, however this just goes to towing cars. Security never patrols the parking lots. Car break-ins are common here now. ===RIGHT NOW IS A BAD TIME TO MOVE IN=== Saratoga is in the middle of an on-going water and sewer re-piping project. Through their hired contractors, they have botched a job replacing in-unit piping in the apartments. They sawed holes in people's walls, replaced them with piping that did not pass inspection, and then put the project on hold indefinitely. The contracted company did not communicate when they would be back after leaving for the day. They entered our unit without notice several times, entering without knocking. My fiance woke up to a contractor in our bedroom without any kind of warning. Neither the contractors or Saratoga would provide any kind of update to the project status beyond "it's on hold indefinitely." We had EXPOSED FIBERGLASS in our apartment for over a month and we just keep hearing that "there's nothing that can be done." The primary apartment manager, Emma ("Enna") Goldstein, made this statement in response to my complaints about the lack of communication regarding the re-piping: "If you don't like it, move out!" That's the level of help you get from management here. TLDR: Don't move here right now, they are doing major renovations in units with limited or no communication. You may move in and the next day have contractors show up, cut 6+ very noticeable holes into highly visible places in your home, then have Saratoga tell you to go pound sand and that you have to live with a messed up apartment for an indefinite amount of time. Feel free to contact me at saratogacomplaints(at)gmail if you'd like to know more about why you should look elsewhere :) Update: They put unpainted sheetrock back up in the units. They are still not really livable. In regards to the Emma's response below: Saratoga still hasn't responded to my previous emails. Don't act like you are being proactive when you are actively ignoring me."
